2021 Taco

Rumor is the 4th generation Tacoma will debut around 2023 and will have a 4-banger engine with a Turbo to help meet CAFE standards. It will also be built on the same platform as the next generation Tundra to help increase efficiencies and increase profits.

You need the remember the the current generation is simply a refreshed 2005.5 Tacoma that debuted in 2016 but with a new drivetrain, interior, tailgate, bed sides, fenders, hood and slightly revised front doors. The “Body In White” (Cab shell) and rear doors are basically a carryover from the 2nd generation.

 

2021 will have a hatchback motor.

 

As I understand it, Apple Car Play automatically adjusts the musical genre your radio is playing to whatever the person is playing in the car next to you at a stop light. Not sure what happens if you both are using Apple Car Play tho. Maybe defaults to new age?

ACP and Android Auto would probably be worthless to me, i cannot even get phone signal half the places I drive, rarely ever bother to connect the phone to my truck as it is.

Anyway your could triple the TSS sensors for extra safety?

 

I tried, but the dealer wouldn't do the recall. They said they only had two "cushions" in stock.

 

I got some plumbers putty. We’ll seal those sensors up good and tight.

 

Maybe thinking 2022 as a 2023 model, there was a thread with an inside engineer who said it should move to a version of the TNGA platform Toyota is moving to (Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner will share), he also said and knew the 2020 refresh was coming...
