New 2021 toyota Tacoma with 1869 miles climb in it today start up goes fine put it in hear transmission responds fine and step on the accelerator and nothing, engine stays idle no response from accelerator, restart and same thing. Now it's on the back of a rollback on its way to a dealer, I've looked through the forums haven't run across this anywhere does anyone have any ideas because I'm at a loss what it could be being it's new?

I'm getting great fuel mileage now as long as it's all downhill and I can coast it, just looking at one upside.

How old is your truck? If l am not mistaken the Tacoma has had it since around 2003 or 2004.

I will bet it's the sensor. My 2003 would have the same thing happen if I hit the gas too hard before it warmed up in the winter. This was with my standard. If I shut the ignition off and gave it a few then started it, it would be fine. When it happened, the truck would accelerate only if the pedal was just about all the way to the floor and then hang on. It was really tricky trying to feather the pedal but it worked enough to get to an area where you could pull over and shut it down for a few. I never had it replaced and I would just go a little easier on the pedal until the truck warmed up.

Well update on problem, truck had no codes or anything they could find so they unhooked the battery for 15 mins. And said it was fixed. I'm not real comfortable anymore I wish they would have found something but it is what it is.

You know how some electronics need a good smack in order for it to work or function. That's probably what the dealer did. :bananadance:

That should be a forum rule - If you find the resolution for a question you've asked on this forum, please post the resolution.
It is most frustrating to search, find a few or many experiencing the same issue, comb thru the entire thread and never find out how it was resolved.
