I am pretty new here, just picked up my new to me 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport about 6 weeks ago.
So far I really love the way this truck drives and is a great commuter for me. But I recently put a 2" level kit and added some 17x9 -12 wheels with 275/70/r17 Toyos. Love the look of the truck now. My problem now is as soon as I put the new wheels on, I can see my drivers side rear has a slight wobble. I went back to the tire shop and had them re-balance the wheel just to be sure it its good. I went home and swapped the drivers side and passenger side to rule out the wheels and tires and the driver side still has a wobble. It is slight but it is there. I then took the wheel off and brake drum and inspected the flange and put the truck neutral and spun the flange and I can visibly see a slight wobble in the flange (about 1/16")
My question now is I see Dorman makes a full kit for the 15 and older trucks but not one for the newer ones. I called the dealer and they will do the swap for about $1200. I would rather do this myself but only parts I can find would still require someone to press the bearing on for me. Any advice would be great. Thankswith wheels.jpg

So was the wobble there before the lift?

Why would you pay $1,200 to fix a problem you can't even feel?

hmmm...I was kind of thinking that but i would hate for it to cause more damage to the rear end. Plus I can see it and it drives me crazy

Did you see the run out when the tires were being balanced? 1/16 on the hub will give 1/2 once it’s move from the center of the circle. Does it happen on both sides? What about the front?

It’s hard to understand what you are observing, but I have hard time not thinking you are observing something out of round/alignment or loose that is superficial.

Note that if you look at the side of the truck via the side mirror while driving down the road it will appear that the side of the truck is jiggling, when in fact it’s the mirror that is jiggling.

If your axle is truly bent it’s hard for me to imagine it getting much more expensive. If it drives fine, I personally would just keep driving it.

I’ve never taken a rear drum off my taco, so I’m not sure what you are looking at, however I suggest you look at the center of the axle for runout, not the edge of a flange that doesn’t not need to be perfectly round. Someone else might be able to give you the proper injection process.

It you can’t stop thinking about it, take it to a mechanic and have them inspect it.
