And this is what I was going to say. Ford is definitely the best American brand by a long margin. I was talking to a mechanic who was telling me that fords are the best and he drives a Chevy because they ride better. And he is a mechanic that can fix most issues. Lol.

The Bronco will be adopted by the same soccer moms and Karens that ruined Jeeps. It already is. I mean, you see those basic bitch bronco's on the road occasionally. They just don't even look right. I like the new Bronco's.... but hard pass. Not worth the cost or the wait time. If I wanted a capable vehicle, I'd build a cherokee like Matt did for his recovery vehicles. Not a Wrangler, or a Bronco. Although, I will admit the OJ style bronco is still by far my favorite vehicle ever. If I could get a mint stock eddie bauer edition that sat in someone's garage this whole time, I'd jump on it and not change a thing about it. Stock and clean af. New ones though... nope. They went tesla with the interior and that's a huge turn off for me in this kind of vehicle. Dangerous too.

Old Bronco or hell, even an older box style blazer = great
New Bronco = manbun hipster/midlife crisis or old person who thinks they are "cute".

Also, as a previous 5.4L owner, I'll pass on pretty much every FORD ever anyways. There is a reason FORD techs are so good at what they do, because they do it so often. FORD's tactics to fix their vehicles is shady af and it's well known. TSB's will get you through the warranty and that's it. FORD does not fix things, they just stop making it and move on to the next version. This whole "smart" interior will be a FORD disaster like 90% of their engines (yes, we can keep the 5.0 - it's a good'n).

Nice Scout but it isn't a 79'. The grill is from 71'-72'. As are the turn signal buckets. The quarter windows don't have sliders which also means that it is
    older than a 79'.
I only know this because I've had my 77' for over 30 years and I also had a 74' for over 10.
That and I'm a Scout nerd.

That video makes as much sense as comparing my Scout SSII to a new Raptor.
My Scout would win that every time.IMG_0094.jpg

I like the new Bronco’s (not Sport), but let’s not pretend it’s like the Bronco of the old days. I’d rather have a Tacoma. My father owns a first generation 1977 Bronco with a 351 Windsor under the hood. I would take it over 3 of the new Broncos.

I've seen several of those older Bronco's at Barrett Jackson with 5.0 Coyote swaps and custom leather interiors. Can't remember the name of the company that does the restorations, but I think they were asking around 80k all in. I'd totally drive one of those. I remember my parents had a green and tan early 90s Eddie Bauer Bronco (the O.J. Simpson body style one ) that we towed our Scarab boat with. My mom hated that Bronco. She said it drove like a brick and wished she had kept our mustard yellow k5 blazer.

The older I get the more I appreciate the classics. New cars just aren't the same. :burnrubber:

I’ve seen what you are talking about. Rich man toys is what those are. Newer vehicles just don’t have that soul anymore. When you take the big old V8’s and replace them with 4 and 6 cylinder turbos and the entire vehicle made of plastic, it sucks the soul right out of them. I like the look of the new full-size Broncos, but I’ll never pay those bucks for one, and it’ll never compare to the classic ones. That old Bronco will turn literally every head in town. The new one would get nothing more than a few glances. It’ll be old news in 2 years tops.

This is just someone looking to boost their YouTube hit count and maybe get some subscribers. As to the video itself, they are two different class vehicles and comparing them head to head is basically pointless.

I agree with you, I have had 5 fords and loved them all and 4 Toyota’s which I also love, but going forward I may get a 4Runner since they have a cargo area and if you have the doors off in the bronco and are carrying them, then there is No cargo space...plus, the prices right now are crazy...

My neighbor has a new Bronco. I went over and checked it out to see what all the fus is about. Honestly I was very dissappointed but I didnt tell my neighbor that. I thought these were going to have a retro look but in the crowd they just look like another SUV. I just watched a video of a guy breaking one while playing in the mud. Seemed pretty whimpy to me. Ill keep my Tacoma. The Taliban cant be wrong when it comes to the Tacoma and its off road abilities.

I've seen a couple at cars and coffee. Cool looking. The 7 speed 2.3 would be my choice. But I’ve no interest in buying one

Wish Tacoma offer customize packages…like Broncos..you can get up to 35 inch tires, with the correct gears, locker front & rear ( I take two locker over the crawl control )…

But I still prefer a dependable proven Toyota Tacoma…sad the Tacoma has poor engine performance…why OV tune & petal commander is growing in popularity! Reason Tacoma will NEVER be out the door a great performance truck…

We may one day see a Bronco truck similar to the Jeep’s P/U..?

I’m going to do one Tacoma limited vs cross trek limited, since I have both, and they are 2 different animals, so it’s the same thing right?

We compared the Bronco to our 2021 Tacoma because we own the Tacoma! It's my wife's truck... And no. It's not a perfect comparison. The 4runner is much closer match to the 4Dr Bronco.

However... Toyota uses the same front suspension setup on the Tacoma and 4runner. That's what I was curious about. Specifically, I was curious if the components on the Bronco were "upgraded" to handle the 35" tires. I expected to find the CV axles and steering components to be significantly larger. Not so... Tribute to Toyota over engineering but not confidence inspiring for the Bronco.

Also. It appears the Bronco is much "wider" than the Tacoma or 4runner. But it's not. Actually the body is slightly narrower. This was a real surprise.

I really like what Ford is doing with the Bronco for enthusiasts. To build a 4runner or Tacoma with locking differentials (f/r), lower gearing, improved crawl ratio, suspension... is crazy expensive (even DIY). There is a massive value proposition from the base Bronco with Sasquatch package (sub $38k for 2dr).

I've owned 15+ Toyotas over the years and enjoy them. However, Toyota doesn't care about enthusiasts just mainstream. The TRD stuff is a joke and way overpriced. Give us front locker, big tires and low crawl ratio! But Toyota never will. Even the FJ Cruiser was a massive disappointment (sub 34:1 crawl ratio), 31" tires, no front locker, terrible gearing... We bought the 2021 Tacoma because of the manual transmission but that's all they give for enthusiasts (and a rear locker depending on version). Ford is doing some great stuff these days. There are challenges with new products and getting the quality and reliability. But they have innovation and excellent product offerings.

We love our 2020 F250 Super Duty! Easiest truck I've ever built. Crazy durable. 4.30 gears are factory option (perfect ratio for 37s). Easy to fit 37s. Factory rear locker (works in 2wd factory). Dana 60 high pinion front differential (lots of locker options - we have the OX air locker). Aux interior switches (why isn't this offered on any Toyota?) makes wiring accessories clean and easy. We run 2 ARB air compressors off these switches. And talk about value... $40k Brand New Custom Ordered. No carpet. Vinyl seats (not your grandpa's vinyl - it's nice). Much better truck than the 2010 Tundra or 2016 Tundra I owned. Heck, it's better than both our 2013 or 2021 Tacoma for build quality.

Glad some of you guys got what I was trying for. :)

Well, I think Toyota's had success for years in part because of their enthusiasts. That's why customers keep buying them. Also, I like my TRD stuff and our 2020 TRD 4runner has been great. I also like lots of other vehicles too. I'm not particularly loyal to any brand, but I can appreciate different things about each one. :burp:
