I just wish they would have left the fenders plain with no lights. I loved my rubi with plain fenders.

I could only afford a rag top sport at the time, but it took me everywhere I wanted to go just by slapping on 32's

that old 4runner powertrain is still just as good as the new bronco’s fancy powertrains on fuel in stock form! A lot less to go wrong and doesn’t look like a drunk monkey assembled things under the hood!!

I've seen the same type of outfits building restomod Scouts too. They put Scout bodies onto Wrangler frames and install LS V8's in them.
    Then they charge over 100k.
The one I'm thinking of is newlegend4x4.com

Yet the 4runner has considerably more cargo space. The hood/front on the Bronco must be longer than the 4runner

Welllll….. at least there is a version of the Bronco that doesn't look like it skipped leg day for the past decade!

This video certainly doesn't apply to those of you abscessed with "appearance" or "looks". Surface deep stuff. I'm digging into the actual components and hardware these trucks have. Get educated. Then you'll know what truly makes the Tacoma or 4runner "best" rather than just saying so.

The Jeep JL platform is not the best rock crawler. The "Step Child" has well over $100k in modifications at this point. Really it's a Jeep body and interior... nothing else.

JL is fine for light duty trail use but realistically needs similar modifications as any other truck. For instance: limited factory gearing options (4.56 best factory ratio), aluminum steering knuckles, FAD (weak spot on axle and failure item), weak steering setup, electric PS pump, weak suspension link mounts on frame/axle and on it goes...

Realistically, if you want a JL to handle 37s reliably you'd want... front axle housing, suspension links and mounts, regear, hydro assist (which is $3,500 for belt driven pump, box, lines, ram), suspension, armor, etc. Easy $20k+ doing much of the work yourself. And you'd still be stuck with 5 lug wheels. Next level is getting to 8 lug - HD axle set which is $20k.

You can play in the entry 4x4 world but to not break with big tires it requires modifications. Street use is another story (do whatever you want). But I'm talking about a rig capable of the Fordyce Trail.

I think the Bronco is interesting because... with the factory 4.77 gears, lockers, axles.. 37s are rather attainable at a cost effective level with durability. Much cheaper than Jeep! For instance, you can buy a 2DR Sasquatch Bronco for $38k. Retain the fairly legit factory coilovers, install 2" CO spacer, 37s will mount on factory wheels, minor trimming, RCV axles (warranty to 40" tires), soon to be released Ford Performance HD steering rack, skids, bumpers, winch. Less than $10k build. All in built for mid $40k range! And that would be a reliable setup. You can't even buy a stock Rubicon or TRD Pro for that money.

It's hard to argue with the value of the Bronco and good capability for the money. Plus the roof and doors come off! And Turbo Manual transmission! Yes please.

Great analysis! Unfortunately it's still a FORD. (I have 2 Fords in the driveway, so I'm not Biased, just realistic).

My 2007 ranger was the most reliable vehicle Ive had so far. 7 years and 165k miles.

I’m sure my taco will be just as reliable but I only had it for 3.5 years and 30k miles, time will tell.

Yes, this does appear to be a tough crowd, but you should find value in the responses. You can't force people to watch your video or like your content. It isn't actually free; the currency is people's time. If people are interested, they'll spend their time watching, and you'll get paid. In this case, there's not much interest, so if you want to attract the Tacoma crowd, you'll need to adjust your future content. All good!

Exactly, I had a ford and it was a piece of shit but doesn't mean they all are. My dads last three trucks were ford and are all fine

Yep. I’ve got numerous friends with fords and they are pretty happy with them.

The older fords seem to be better from my experience.

Bilstein 6112 front / 5100 rear (extended) shocks, Headstrong AAL, Firestone airbags, 4.88 gears, OME Carrier bearing drop kit, Aluminum 1/4" skids (engine to transfer). Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.
I have both in the driveway (2 door Bronco and DCSB Taco.) They're different vehicles with different missions.

I'd say the Bronco is a full second (or more) quicker to 60 mph. Passing speeds are better too but don't have a way to measure. The Bronco IS a fun little tank as it's like a jacked up go-cart.. the 2 door's turning radius is on a dime but it is a SMALL suv. Perhaps people can compare the 4 door bronco to the 4runner but not the 2 door. One design decision that stinks is having to shut the rear glass BEFORE you can close the rear door. For those of you with truck shells.. think of having to open the tailgate just to pop open the rear glass (or having to close the rear glass before shutting the F'n tailgate. )

Also at interstate speeds the Bronco has more interior road noise (which makes sense because the top/panels are removable.) This is saying something tho because when I first bought the Tacoma I thought IT was noisy inside (as I had been spoiled by the insulated silence of a Tahoe.)
