Hmmm, I wonder is he is referring specifically to the KDMax tune and not OVTune's mods

Granted they don't have the low end grunt of a bigger v8, but really can't find fault for the needs of mine. Its got plenty enough power to pull my boat and utility trailer.

    A few.
Technically Consumer Reports has 2020 the best year for relibility 5 out of 5. Car complaints.com has the 2017 2nd only to the 2016s for problems.

I am referring to all vehicles in general and that is based upon the issues with labor and supply chain that car manufacturers have had during the Covid period. RV's have suffered from this and I have seen it with tractors as well, It stands to reason when you have a large influx of new hands in a manufacturing facility or outside factors causing issues, that your build quality may decrease. At least this is my experience with manufacturing products.

If you take China manufacturing for instance from a pure human nature point of view (I know the trucks are not made in China) China's manufacturing base pretty much flips 50% or more of their employees once a year after Chinese New Year, the products made the first couple of months the facility is opened up after Chinese New Year there are more issues with build quality than the products made later in the year. I have seen this first hand multiple years.

So taking that example into account and knowing the issues car makers have had with labor etc, it stands to reason this may also be a factor in reliability of goods manufactured during this period.

Some makers will probably do better than others and hopefully Toyota is one of them.

Almost 9k on my 21' trd OR.
Sensor has some mishaps at first but other have reported this. Usually under 5k miles.
AT trans is funny but I I drive like an old man and just recently I think it's gotten better and I've been getting better MPGs too.

I was in the same boat as OP. Almost 5 years I waited and when I finally did I noticed all the things people complained about, still love the truck

I have a 21 limited DC 4x4 limited. Occasional transmission shudder? Infamous rear end whine? I haven't had any of that, Solid as a rock with 4.5k. Ready for first oil change. It probably could use an axillary oil cooler though.

Really the only initial issue on my 2020 was a dirty access door switch. I was able to spray it with deoxit electrical contact cleaner...been woking fine since.

    I agree with you.

But I do think it’s important to inform potential buyers of what to expect. And also note, I can only speak of my own experiences with the factory tune.

For towing in general, and anything over 4,000 lbs for sure, I would not recommend this truck. I hate to admit it, but my wife’s old 2011 v6 RAV4 towed better than my Tacoma.

One of the reasons I bought this truck is that I now have a Honda Goldwing that I would like the option of towing, an option I didn't have with my 2019 RAV4 hybrid. At about 2100 lbs between a 1200 lb UHaul motorcycle trailer and the 860 lb bike, about a third of the listed towing capacity, I can't imagine this truck not doing at least an adequate job. I don't load anything else other than me and a suitcase for my clothes. I'm talking 2-3 times a year, not daily.

    Same!

Reliability of the ‘21 Taco is similar to any other popular vehicle. In other words, don’t let that be a deciding factor in your purchase.

So far, my ‘21 has been equally or more reliable than the 2019 Subaru it replaced and much more reliable than the 2017 Ridgeline we had before the Subaru.

Carvana wouldn’t be paying so much for the Tacos if there were real issues.

All the stereo talk is interesting. I adjusted mine and have zero issues with the sound. It’s not my M3 quality, but compared to my WRX, it’s a dream

How many miles do you have? Sluggish start but once all the autotune/break-in came into play (about 700 miles) it started to get up and go. Still think I'm going to flash with OVTune

Didn't read the thread, only the OP. Not sure if it's been mentioned but...

Bad news travels faster than good news.

Take the truck for a long test drive. Don't get hung up on internet forums. Go with your gut

Nothing is wrong with it. Some guys think this truck should drive like a lambo and bitch about the shifting. I have a 2016 and it is fine. Just don't expect it to drive like an Italian super car.

The value of vehicles is crazy and decided to Buy a 2021 TRD Sport DCSB 4wd but this time with The 6 speed manual transmission

I’ve had some issues with the
2015 & 2017. Not a big deal. So far the 2021 MT is fun to drive. (Not much traffic due to a pandemic) I’m sure in the next few weeks/months with increased traffic I maybe changing my tune on fun to drive. How many shifts to get through one stop light in Chicago? 74! Lol……

Maybe you should stop making stupid posts like that without explaining it’s just personal preference?
