It's not that the stereo sounds bad. It just doesn't sound good.

    My, my…

    Really???

I hate to point it out… but if you read the ‘offending’ post slowly, you’ll see that It is more than clear - at least for most people who have taken their meds…

There is literally nothing wrong with the automatic transmission. Lol That’s the most laughable topic on this entire forum. It’s a 4-6 cylinder pickup truck folks. For those complaining about stereo quality, are we talking the “premium” stereo or the base stereo?

It amazes me which threads get pages and pages of replies and which do not.

My 2012 DCSB had the the base stereo. My Pro has the JBL "premium"

Neither sound bad. But neither sound good either.

I've had my 2021 OR manual for a month and it's currently in the shop because the drivers side HVAC blend door is getting stuck. They had to take the whole dash apart to get to it, found the problem, and then proceeded to order the wrong part. Sigh... Currently driving their loaner 2021 base access cab auto and it's a turd compared to my truck... but it works.

Before I purchased my 2021 DCSB OR 6MT I read in one of the major magazines that the Tacoma reliability ratings had gone down almost solely due to complaints about the AT and that the one to get was the 6MT. That was long before I joined this forum and saw all the complaints about the AT. I do not own the AT and have never driven one, so I do not claim to know how it drives. However, I have read literally hundreds of posts on this forum complaining of gear hunting and shifting into high gears much too soon. If I was in the market for the AT I would definitely test drive it first, under as many different scenarios as possible. I do understand that it supposedly learns the driver’s style after a while and adapts accordingly, as well as the fact that custom tunes are available that claim to fix it. However, an extensive test drive would seem to be in order before purchase.

People come to forums mostly to find solution to a problem or complain, hence the "100's of posts" on the subject. The other million or two drivers don't share their views, IMO.
