I only care about the 2021 model year. Let me say that again. 2021 Tacomas only please.

Can someone, anyone, just tell me if they're standard on 2021 V6 Tacomas or not? I can't believe how hard it is to get any actual information about this on the wide world of the internet.

If I put in an order 6 months ago based on the Toyota website options, and it never showed it as something I had to ask for on a V6 4x4, and my salesman didn't go through all my options with me, I'm gonna have an aneurism.

If you know where this can be shown one way or another, that's not a dealers website, please link it. So many threads here already have a bunch of confusion between different model years, much less generations. I only care about the 2021, but I know some wise-ass is going to tell me about their 2016 or worse yet 2nd gen hahaha.

The Tow Package, which includes a class IV hitch receiver, engine oil cooler, power steering cooler, 4/7-pin trailer connector, and trailer sway/stability control comes standard on all 3rd generation Toyota Tacomas optioned with a V6. :)

just out of curiosity, how does a 4 cylinder Tacoma tow then? can the tow package be purchased and installed OEM or aftermarket tow hitch only?

I believe you can option a 4 cyl. Tacoma with the Tow Package as it does not have a class IV hitch receiver, engine oil cooler, power steering cooler, 4/7-pin trailer connector, or trailer sway/stability control standard.

There sure are a lot of "wise ass" people trying to help out the OP that doesn't even have his ""2021 only" truck yet. Y'all need to just leave the poor guy alone. He probably paid way too much for the truck that he doesn't even have yet anyway.

Ok, 2021 SR5 4x4 V6. My travel trailer weights 5,000. lbs empty. The loaded weight is 6,800 lbs.
I am going to add a electric break to my truck. Would you pull this RV with my Tacoma?

These are always the best post. “I’ve looked all over the internet gonna flipping die, I can’t find the answer anywhere etc etc” then someone posts the answer within minutes of the post.

    Check build thread!
Yes, standard. There is also a small ATF cooling portion of the radiator.

Been standard for years, but since this thread is only about 2021's and I only have a 2017 that had to option the tow package...

    I would not!!

That trailer is right at your max towing capacity, and that means, dollars to donuts, you are also probably exceeding your tongue weight/max payload.

You absolutely need a weight distribution hitch and a trailer brake. But even then, I wouldn't want to grenade my transmission towing at max capacity.

Thanks for all the replies! I only saw conflicting information on threads here about 3rd gens year to year, and not even consistent information about what comes with the "optional" tow package. I've even seen somewhere that it comes with an integrated trailer brake controller, but I'm still unsure on that.

Everywhere I looked it showed that the tow package was optional, but I never saw that as an option to select when going through the build. I guess I was focused on a few other things in the rush of getting the order in, figured it was standard, but recent research (that wasn't thorough enough) made me worry.

I'm glad so many folks here helped put my mind at ease! Thanks everyone!

Now, if a brake controller isn't integrated, why not? Seems like a great feature that wouldn't cost very much for Toyota or the consumer.
