Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
My new 2021 TRD OR AC has factory installed bed lights. I'm questioning how they were factory wired.
    1. There is NO cargo light in the 3rd brake light.
    2. There is a switch, left side of dash, positions are: Off, Door, On. Symbol on the switch suggests cargo light in 3rd brake light.
    3. The switch (2) also controls the rear (interior) dome light, which I find a bit bizarre.
    4. The overhead map lights (front of the cab) turn on & off with the door or key fob unlock/lock.

If your TRD AC has bed lights, does their operation match what I'm describing?

    Personally, I think that:
    - There should have been a cargo light with the 3rd brake light on the same control as the bed lights. I feel cheated.
    - The rear (interior) dome light should operate separate from the bed lights and should be wired or control the same as (4) above.

My TRD OR AC was built in Mexico, not Texas. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with this setup.

That switch on my 20 controls the bed lights in both the bed and 3rd brake light

I'm assuming your switch also has a Door position so those lights will come on when the door is opened - true?
What controls the rear interior dome light? Does it come on & off with the door and/or key fob lock/unlock?
Is yours an access cab or double cab?
What packages was it equipped with?
I'm at a loss to understand why there is no cargo light in the 3rd brake light, other than helping Toyota save a few pennies by eliminating stuff they consider inconsequential.
I'll be looking for an explanation from Toyota USA corporate as to the lack of a cargo light at the 3rd brake light and the switch operation.

Gen 3 Access Cabs do not have cargo lights in the third brake light, regardless of trim level or where it was built. They share the same third brake light as the Gen 2.

Toyota is continueing to dissapoint me over the last 5 yrs maybe more. I have been Buying only Totoyta for 30 yrs now... First in was the stupid EnTune infotainment system POJ ...now no Cargo light in Acess Cabs...They must be kidding...What was once a Awesome company is now headed downward IMO ..... Toyota USA used to call me after I purchased a New Toyota to make sure and issues no matter how small. They remedaded ASAP (IE: Overnight mailed the owners manual) Now when I bothered to call its a waste of time..Toyota needs to reread there own book as the customer is no longer important and quality/ fit n finish (is slipping). I actually bouight the rear cargo bed lights from toyota installed them directly to the connectors in the wiring harness only to now discover ... I cant turn them on ????. Because I bought n access cab with a 6 ft bed. I use it for a work truck not a daily driver I wanted a pick-up truck...
