2021 Why Didn't They Thread

Having my 2021 TRD Sport with advanced tech pkg for a few months now, here are my observations on what items I would liked to have seen on the truck:

• automatic door locking when walking away from the truck.
• audible warning for the BSM when using the turn signals.
• fuel door lock. I could actually be ok without that since I have remote start but at least give me a capless gas cap.
• CD player. Yes I'm old.
• Leather interior option for all models.
• Rear disc brakes. Yes they are not needed, add cost but always look good.
• Cargo lamp for access cabs. Makes no sense why they don't have it.
• Rear headrests that fold completely out of the way of the rear window.

Some of the above can be blamed on the bean counters, fuel door lock and CD player for example but an audible warning for the BSM and auto locking doors would not add any (or very minimal) cost to the truck.

There's a clown in here that bought a SR and didn't get intermediate wipers and boy is he mad .

My 2021 TRD OR rear headrests fold forward completely out of the way to see out the back better, do yours not?

I’m glad there is no audible warning for BSM, that shit is annoying as hell on other cars. Just look over at your mirror and the little yellow light tells ya someone is there (or just look for a car)

Automatic door locking? Is tapping the handle 2 times too hard before ya walk away? I think that shits cool haha.

For me, it should come from the factory with:

1. LED interior lights
2. Hydraulic struts for the front hood
3. I drive a manual and it would be nice to have keyless entry instread of having to press the key fob to open the doors.
4. Rear seatbelt buckles that stay in place when you access your seating storage.
5. Tailgate that locks with the rest of the truck.

I guess that's just the basic stuff that should come factory for all TRD models at least.

To be ''fair'' I had 2 SR's but I knew what I was getting and added the fog's, but never got to the wiper switch change because they both had quirks the 16' never seemed to shift well even with the TSB's it came a little over a qt of trans, fluid and drove it a bit in well below temp's. The 19 had more noise rattles and sounds. The 16 was quite. My 21 is the best one yet for shifting and noise, it maybe the trim level, SR5.

 

most old people don't listen to CD's anymore, haven't for decades. But hey, since we're complaining about tech, let's add it!

 

Wouldn't be the third gen section without a bunch of whiners complaining about shit that doesn't matter.

 

I've got a factory 2018 Entune Headunit with CD Player. Would be willing to trade.
