Ugh this question is repetitive and all over the place.

Lets start off with some measurements because i have seen old posts of people asking but no measuring. According to the thread 21” is the stock OR height. I measured center hub to wheel well at 22.25” lets call it 22” in the front. Rear was right at 22.5”.

Im specifically looking to see if anyone with 22-23 pros are running 285/75/16’s on stock set up.

I ask because the UCAs are the new billet beefy bois and eat up some room for tire width.

If you are running that size did you use spacers?

I absolutely do not want to CMC but I could care leas about trimming plastic.

Also gas mileage is not a concern. Id keep it stock if i want better mileage.

From post I have seen the 285s hit the UCA. You will need a wheel spacer or get new wheels.

I'm running 285 75 16 on my stock 23 pro. Did add 3/4" bora spacers to stay off the bullet uca. Here's some pics from yesterday after the install. Running 34psi now and as expected with the e rated tire it's a tad rougher ride vs. the soft factory tires, but nothing too bad. You won't loose any fillings. Lol, in a straight line yes. Turning in the front of the fender it rubs on that small piece that sticks backward, I'll trim it back in a few days. Also the front mudflap gets rubbed turning under hard bumps. Nothing a heat gun and angle grinder can't fix, on my 2018 I was able to heat gun the mud flap up front and I kept it on.

Man this is beautiful. All the other places ive tried to reach people on just tell me to do the wescot kit or lift it. I have a hard time justifying my desire for the pro for the suspension to modify it.

My original thought was maybe juat 275s and wheels. But as the number of informational post like these roll in more and more are having no issue running 285s with a proper spacing from the UCA.

For reference compared to a stock space gap on the suspension UCA, does the 3/4” spacer roughly keep you equal to original spacing? Based on the math it seems so.

plastic always loses to rubber. Eventually that will go away or rolled out with a heat gun. I agree there.

Sorry. Ive never run a spacer before. Are the 3/4” long enough not to have studs pome out and hit the wheel?

Nice looking truck!! Been doing a lot of research on the Toyo tires... curious why you went with the R/T over the R/T Trail?
edit... just noticed they are the R/T Trails... great choice!!

If your using the stock pro wheels there's enough room and cutouts behind the stock wheels you won't have to trim the lugs, most aftermarket wheels will require cutting down the lugs to clear the spacer and wheel, I couldn't justify that on a 53k taco. Lol

Hell, I could barely justify the 3/4 BORA spacers....never ran spacers before but I'll keep them as long as they perform. Or get scs wheels again. I don't prefer a lot of poke outside the wheelwell, but this is apparently what it takes to clear the billit uca's.

I just measured the uca to the tire tread, looks to be around 2.5 inches on level ground. Not the best pic bit maybe you can see it. Im working on stopping the rub today.20230617_150209.jpg

I basically just found out im gonna run 285s and some bora spacers lol.

thats plenty of clearance. Looks as much if not actually more than stock clearance.

    Thanks for the help!!!

Anytime! I like it so far, I wish the pros came stock with this setup in a c rated tire. I've got the passenger side done, now on to drivers side. I just used a box blade on the front and removed the screw from the clip and cut it flat toward the tow hook, moved it forward about an inch or so and redrilled into the thin plastic and reattached the bolt. Hope this helps and makes sense. Might try the heat gun on the mudflaps later, would probably have to beat in the pinch weld to the rear to use them again.20230617_163045.jpg 20230617_163057.jpg 20230617_163108.jpg

Edit: I will say that if you order online through Discount Tire you might need to put in a 2020 Pro with three inch lift or you can't order them because they'll say they won't fir our vehicles. Lol

Noted. Thats usually who i find has the best prices around me.

this interesting and i have kept looking at it. Guys swear you have to run 1.25” spacers and cab mount rub is guaranteed.

Boi does this just prove its all crap. Super stoked that pro wheels can stay!!

Yes you could run a 1.25" spacer, but it will more than likely require more plastic trimming and heat gun use. I'll report back in a week or so after going to our farm in North AR to let you guys know if that fixed all the rubbing. I've got 3,400 miles on it now and the BORA spacers took 6 weeks to arrive, so I wasn't able to get tires until Thursday.

Dang. I literally just bit the bullet and bought them. Guess ill stay patient. Thanks for the heads up they take a while.

Ive seen you and another guy running this setup and not having any issues other than plastic. And he said its minor much like you did.

1.25" spacer is enough to not have to trim your lugs or install new ones. After mixed findings I think 265 is widest that will fit on the 2016 trd stock wheels.
I went with the spacer and a taller tire (75) on stock wheels.
Anything lifted higher than 2" should consider going wider or it just looks off balance.

With the factory 2023 pro wheels no trimming is required for the 3/4" spacer. The factory pro wheels have recesses in the back alternating every other lug not that makes no trimming necessary.

So far so good, haven't been in too rough of terrain yet. Hoping to change that this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes if I can get in a farm weekend.

Thanks for the advice! Its a perfect set up in my opinion. Only rub is full lock reverse. That area you detailed before.

Hats off to you and the other guy on here for pioneering lol.
