2022 Blue Crush opinion...

I wish they offered the off road access cab 6MT in the US. perfect arrangement

 

There should be another color for sure. Lunar Rock or Army green. If not, 2022 will be the most boring year for Tacoma colors.

Blue Crush looks like the average sparkly blue we see from all car manufacturers. I don't like it.

 

You can get an OR or Pro MT in DCSB.

 

I’ve been considering the new blue as well. Need to see it in person (and on a Tacoma preferably) to make a final judgement. However, I think it might be a bit too purple for my tastes. I actually had a Mustang Cobra in Sonic Blue which looks pretty similar based on pictures I’ve seen. Absolutely loved that car and the color, but for some reason I’m not sure I’ll like the Blue Crush on a truck… I’m leaning toward Lunar Rock right now, assuming it’ll be available on the OR models here in the US.

No. 4Runner is Nautical blue metallic.

Blue crush is currently a Corolla Color.

And I see the Corolla has cement now...while the Tacoma won't.

 

Is this a joke?! i find it quite comical that Tacoma's are getting 2022 colours from the little cars.. Common Toyota, especially the PRO, it deserves a non tiny car colour!!

Yeah it sucks...and in Canada it's worse as each trim and package has fewer colors than the US made available even though all trucks come from the same place.

I can't get an access cab TRD OR in silver or Barcelona red. Which would have been my second choices after cement.

 

I feel the northern land pain! I want to order a PRO and can't, was told can't order the 2021 (which I don't want now) or the 2022 yet, and no thanks the the Prius neon green, that will be regrettable later... the blue is better but still not so fantastic at all

 

Make sure you look at it on a rainy day. I saw the corolla in full sun the 1st time....looked 85% blue with a hint of purple. Went on a rainy day and looked 90% purple. Two other guys that were with me called it Easter egg and fugly purple...lol
I really wanted Cement. Then heard lunar rock was coming down into the lower trims. But of course in Canada we get little to no choice compared to our brothers and sisters stateside. Going to play it safe and get MGM, my mind is made up. Thanks everyone for chiming in. Now just waiting for Oct

 

I'm thinking Blue Crush would look awesome when clean,but would show every spec of dust and scratches. If we can get the LED headlight option here in Canada I may look into trading my 20 VooDoo on a 22 Lunar Rock DCSB TRD Premium.

 

I asked the dealer if the 22s came with LED headlights. He said no. I asked if there were any upgrade packages on the TRD OR and he also said no. Not in Canada.

If you find out there is a way pls let me know.

 

It would have to look like a royal or a dark navy blue to appear to me. I had a blue 93 toyota 4x4 truck that was acceptable. Paint faded after several years like the reds i've had not looking well.

 

I'd be curious what other dealers say.

I figured Army Green would still be available on the OR and Lunar Rock would be added as well. I can't see there being only four colours on the OR.

 

Reminds me of Blue Ribbin Metallic they ran at the end of the 2G run, 2014-2015 only? They only had Nautical Blue when I bought my 2013 which was the same color my now-wife had on her tC which looked purple in the sun.

 

I'm pretty sure there are 2 main reasons for limited colour selections.
- Access cab
- Canada
My salesman says Access cab is almost extinct up here. Not available in SR or SR5 trim in 2022.

Doublecabs rule in Canada I guess. I bet there are more color options for them. Probably AG and LR. I didnt ask because I'm going Access cab.

 

Heck, you look through dealer lots down here, your lucky to see 1, or 2 access cabs on their lot. Everything else is double cabs, or long bed double cabs. I think even the color quicksand is gone to.
