The dealer cannot do anything about.
The issue you have is 7+years old and related to the "software".
Want to fix it, consider the tunning. Pinging is "normal" for oem ecu calibration, especially under a load. Same goes for torque converter shudder.

Will tunning void the power train warranty?

Are you selling your truck after powertrain warranty expires?

Idk about any pinging. My truck for the most part has always run well on E87 grade fuel. For some reason it doesn't like any fuel grade over 89, where it will run worse, but never pings. Depending on the year, it seems to me these trucks run different from others. You either get a later one that works great, or one's that are average, or below needing a tune.:notsure:

My suggestion is just drive it . Use your radio more lol
Always remember it’s a truck not a BMW all trucks have little quirks. The more miles you drive the more you will notice all these things . Also the more you read here the more you will find wrong with your truck. I guarantee all the people that don’t belong to this forum have any issues

I believe the same, also the 4 runners, I got my wife a 2023 because I already had the tacoma and as a home owner a truck is needed but I'd pick the 4 runner over the taco all day long

I started flashing tune when the truck had 16k, now it has 73k.
I have not experienced any issues with the drivetrain and warranty work so I cannot speak on this matter. However, I took the tunned truck to services for a few years.

These engines don't "ping", the knock sensor will rip out tons of timing WELL before one gets to audible ping.

The "shudder" most likely is not transmission related. Us MT guys have been complaining about it far louder as it is more obvious with the direct connection of the MT.

Unfortunately a few with tunes have said that they still have the issue. I do not believe that the current tunes for these trucks change the fundamental fueling of the motor.

Someone mentioned plugs. Folks have checked, at least some of the poor running engines were checked and did not have lose plugs.

It's been reported by one member here that forcing the engine out of direct injection and into flood injection mode helped the engine to run much smoother.
