My take is that the FIA put him into the position of team principles blabbing/yelling in his ear and then fired him because he could not focus on his job. Now they fire him and revise the rules. They could have just revised the rules but they needed to "punish" someone.

 

I wonder how the sanctions -- the ones aimed at oligarchs cozy with Putin -- will affect the team's finances.

The Russian GP is toast for sure but Haas is also in trouble. Sanctions will probably prevent them from accepting any money from Uralkali which will be a major financial strain but how much farther will that go? Will things get so weird that a portion of Haas' assets already received from Uralkali be frozen? Will any country ban them from participating at certain races? Should be as simple as removing the sponsor logos but who knows.

 

Mmmmm, flag intrigue. Gotta love F1.
