Sure, but if he's faster every race and ends up in first more than Ham then they have to make a decision on who they push to win the championship. So if Mercs going to win in 2022 then I hope it ends up being Russel. I want Ham to retire.

 

I want Ham to retire with an 8th WDC and I'm sure Merc would like him with the record 8th in a Merc. Russell will have plenty of time.

 

True and I’m sure in the early races of the season Mercedes will be biased to Lewis, but if George manages to get ahead on points by a significant margin then Toto will back him as the leading driver.

 

Might be a wild guess but if I had to pick one team to get it right I am thinking Ferrari. Would be great to see them get some wins next season. Fact is next seasons cars are based off low rake & have carry over PU so Mercedes probably will be the front runner.

 

I wonder how that works with RB, they are going from Honda PU to their “new and own” PU. May be a loophole RB can exploit?

 

Same PU has this season just not badged a Honda. Engineers from Honda will advise & be trackside next season to help though I believe.

I always thought that he got lucky on overtakes or defending, especially when there was contact. He took out Albon, verstappen, etc multiple times it seems. But, I guess people would say the same thing about Max being too aggressive and taking out others.

I’m not a Lewis fan but there’s no doubt he’ll go down as one of the greats, granted he was in the best equipment as well.

 

I thought the same thing especially this last race. Perez holding him off like that was epic!
