I really wish they would get rid of these useless sprints. Watching the top teams get a second chance to recover positions they lost due to penalties and mistakes in qualifying is less sporting and entertaining and only leads to a boring Sunday.

What is the reason of doing away with tire warmers?

My guess is pirelli's new tires won't require them.

One would hope..........interesting. Could be a(nother) year of tire(less) excitement.

I am just a nutbag though. I wish there were free enterprise on tire BRAND selection. Limit size, maybe weight - but all else no limit.

Well I remember the Bridgestone Michelin tire war seasons. Never know, another tire war could happen.

The tire war ruined F1 and very good reason why they dumped multiple tire brands.

Vettel apparently got heated at the post-sprint drivers' meeting and has been summoned to see the stewards for "Behaviour unbecoming a sportsman"

apparently he and George Russell told the stewards and the new race director(s) that they are crap

so there is more emphasis put on the drivers to fire up the tires from cold and not the blankets pre-warming the tires

Also it’s f1 trying to be a bit more eco friendly. Heating on average 52 tyres for each driver every weekend uses a crazy amount of electricity.

I personally wish F1 cars were just big go-carts with V10’s running on bio fuel and do away with sensors that aid drivers like tire temps.

did you see it pop the engine cover? looked like multiple explosions starting down the straight.

the action this year is pretty great. at the same time I'm wondering what @mosccat 's formula above with 500kg lighter cars would look like.
