They were kinda forced to go to the hards when they pitted Leclerc because they started medium , medium but seriously

 

Yeah I know.

Rain possible. Not hot. Saw others lousy on hard early. Could have done soft early.

 

they put the hards on with the intention of going to the end with them

 

I'm a new guy to F1 discussion here...but not to F1...as in Hunt/Lauda was current events not a movie.
IMHO, Ferrari's issues now are the same as pre-Lauda and pre-Schumacher...the lack of a driver that was a leader and inspired the team. They both could drive obviously, but just or maybe more importantly, both brought the team together around them and demanded success. And demanded success in a way that was not off-putting but inspirational and made everyone work even harder. <rant over>

Despite ample evidence from multiple other teams that the hards sucked. While their driver was telling them the current yellows were still working just fine. While Hamilton stayed out on his yellows, went long, and moved to reds after.

That was really some race. Starting order was fantastic and George did the best he could with it. Fishlip's 360 was testimony to his driving talents; I've seen him do saves like that before and it's always impressive. Mercedes is unquestionably in the hunt for podium places now, and it's been a long long time since 3 teams were in the hunt at once. The second half of the season should be epic, assuming Ferrari finds their a** with one or the other of their hands.

Honestly I heard it first from the WTF1 podcast and it just made way too much sense for him to go there so Piastri can take over his seat. Too much of a upside for them to lend him to another team until Alonso retires

Latifi is gone for sure, no way Williams keeps him around. Easily P20 every race besides any retirements.
