Sorry to hear about your mishap OP, glad you're here and welcome!

And btw, trees have a way of topping over, even with no winds, always on the lookout for them

I was doing 60 or a little under. Conditions were horrible. I believe that auto breaking had a hand in saving my life. By the time I was on the break the truck was already breaking before impact. Even if there is a defect in the Airbags (which I’m told is the fact) I’m so happy with my Toco. When insurance pays out I’m gettin me another one. May a 24 with turbo. lol

If airbags didn't deploy NHTSA would be very interested in that.
I think all of us would.

Who told you it's a fact there was an issue with the airbags? They don't just go off on any impact. Certain criteria needs to be met for them to deploy.

The fact that you didn't get hurt shows they weren't needed. I'd say they worked as intended.

I would think that if the air system was not working properly, there would have been a dash led warning light in dash.
I’ve seen some of our fleet trucks get into wrecks (front) where the bags did not deploy, but no injuries either, or faults found.
Please keep us posted on that.

    Cheers!

Absolutely. Air bag events are not pleasant.

    Glad you are okay!
Unfortunately, everyone thinks the speed you hit something is most important... That's not it. It's how fast you stop!
Hit a concrete wall at 60? Airbags won't help. You die.
Hit something that just slows you down at 60 mph? You live to tell the story.

I was under the impression it only beeps and displays a warning. I’m sure mine never applied the brakes when I experienced the situation.

    Some good questions here.

    From Toyota’s owners documentation.

Well, If Tom Brady or Tekata had anything to do with those air bags, that would explain it
