Double cab long boi checking in. I'm out in California (bay area) and I tend to see more LR short beds. Might be because I live in the suburbs and most people don't need the extra foot? Also, manual transmission only comes in the short bed configuration, so that could be another reason too.

Here's my long boi around the eastern sierras with Mt. Whitney in the back

Nope. Just acknowledging the fact that people pick the features on their trucks and such based on their POV or needs. No different than getting ripped for having a fake skewp (which I love by the way) I have no "strong" opinion on these matters. I have "strong" opinions on subjects that are important to me and probably important to most people, like finances, parenting etc. It's silly to have a "strong" opinion on whether to get a short bed or long bed or to Skewp or not to skewp etc. I think people just have fun chiding one another, which I partake in sometimes but generally it's not my thing as I find this forum an EXCELLENT source of information sharing and I do like to contribute with my particular skill set. To each their own though lol

I can't agree with this more. To me, the truck is a tool and folks will need different tools depending on their needs and purposes. Different folks, different strokes yanno?

And thanks everyone for compliments on the photo. Hoping to do more camping and photography now that I have an indestructible taco in the garage :)

You can disagree with me, but you can't disagree with the numbers. Dealers would rather have a car that appeals to 75% of the population than one that appeals to 5%. We have advanced beyond the days of Henry Ford with his all black line up, but there are certain colors that sell better than others.

Anyone know which colors sell best and which ones don't?

Also, it would be interesting to hear favorite colors of Toyota.

Both are great pics but I'll take snow over desert all day. I do like the lunar rock color but opted for the army green. I like hiding in the forests.

Everything I've read through the years has stated that the greyscale colors (black, white, grey, silver) sell best through the USA. Now, I don't know how much of the white being on there is the fact that fleet sales make up a large portion of overall sales and are almost all white, but I do see more vehicles in the greyscale. I believe that is why the TRD Pro is always available in the black, white, and MGM with a "special" color each year. The special color entices the FOMO, and the greyscale covers the safe bets.

That is the way it was when I had access to the Toyota network and could see the color allocations. I was actually surprised how few of the non greyscale colors were actually produced. It isn't just Toyota. All cars have roughly the same percentages.

When I got my new Tacoma back in April 2023, I only saw MGM and Lunar Rock where I live in Utah. Lately I've been seeing a lot of Celestial Silver, which is what I have. I love the color now (it's grown on me) but got it because that's what they had. I love the cement color though.
