Just remember....if you drop the clay, throw it away.

Clay bar is amazing. Annoying to do but you never realize how smooth paint can be until you use a clay bar.

Yeah, Just about to hit the big 60 with multiple autoimmune diseases thanks to The Department of the Navy letting us drink bath and eat food prepared with highly contaminated water at Camp Lejeune! Every day is a challenge so yes I can be grumpy at times especially without my rack time, but I digress.

I did use the Maguire's iron remover and clayed the truck this morn and all I can say is WOW, this stuff is incredible. I am wondering if it is because of the anti-chip texture on the lower panels that I had all this rust showing up. It is like all that rough texture held onto the rail dust (my first experience with that), but it is good to go now. Never saw that before any of my new trucks. Every truck I have purchased was clean and waxed when I took ownership. Apparently these trucks are in so much demand they can't be bothered to detail them anymore.

I was going to just do the lower section but once I got going, and the incredible result I saw, I just had to do the entire truck. If it wasn't our first thunderstorm of the year I would post pics.

This Midnight Black Metallic wasn't my first choice, nor the manual transmission, but it just happened to be arriving a couple days after I inquired about ordering a 2023. With no dibs on it I told them I would take it. Really do enjoy the Manual, been a long time since I drove a stick so I was a bit unerved when I started driving it because the clutch is really funky, and then I found out about this stupid accumulator, another project that will be done soon. What were they thinking?:annoyed:

Thanks for the kind and helpful comment. "smoother than the shit talkers on this forum," and the laugh. Certainly a lot of those lurking on here.

Welcome… sorry to hear you’re going through a hard time medically, that can not be easy.

Everyone here for the most part wants to help and this forum is a great place for asking advice or giving advice on anything from how to brew beer, to how to bbq meat and of course for how to spend more money on your Tacoma.

    Cheers

Great to hear it worked out for you. Post a pic when the weather improves. I have an autoimmune disease. I swung to the Auto over a 6M partially because of this.

Loads of fun eh? I have been on the the AIP diet since last July and it helps a bit, but have been waiting several months to see a rheumatologist as the Veterans Affairs arthritis clinic is, how shall I say this, government run healthcare and useless maybe? They sure don't want to admit the several chemicals in the well water that were 3000 times over the EPA limit for safe drinking water are responsible for destroying my life. But I persevere regardless and better times are coming. I hope you are not hurting too bad and having some nice weather up there.

I drove up to Anchorage back in 2008 to work for a while and cut through the boarder after visiting friends in West Glacier, Montana. I made the drive through Banff, Jasper, Prince George. Still to this day, just blown away by the beauty of BC, absolutely stunning. Would love to make that drive again someday. Take care and thanks.

There’s a silver lining in your situation somewhere. Don’t stop looking for it. If you’re retired from the mil dump the VA. I did and use Tricare now for everything. Asshats say they care about vets but it’s all a bottom line to them. It takes some maneuvering to find what works for you but satisfaction in the end is better without the VA.
