    Hello,
I was thinking to take my 2022 TRD Off-Road into a dealer for my first-ever service at 15k. What do you consider to be the must-have TSBs?
Also, any dealer recommendations in the Denver area?
    Thanks,
    Jay

Avoid Stevinson East at all costs! Horrible “service associates” took me for a ride over my creaky clutch pedal TSB. Long story short they needed five appointments before they realized the TSB didn’t apply to my ‘21 and before the foreman ever worked on my truck. Once he did the foreman told me the problem was the same thing I told the associate five visits prior: grease the pedal-cylinder ball joint. Then he said “come back in a week we have to order the grease.” What a crock of crap! I can’t help with TSBs beyond that. Total nightmare and the last time I’ll ever go to a dealer for service.

For basic maintenance take it to your trusted small shop mechanic if you really don’t want to do the services yourself. Bob’s Service at Colfax and Roslyn is a trustworthy shop, I used to live on the same block just north of there. Yeah they’re a Volvo shop but your Toyota is nothing they can’t handle.

If you insist on the “free” maintenance from a dealer, take a photo of the oil drain plug and fill cap before you go in so you can prove they did something, the dirt will get smudged off if they actually did the work. Also find a way to discretely mark your wheels and tires so you know they rotated them. Beyond those two things they just look at the stuff your manual says to inspect.

(edit: or just check your dip stick before leaving their lot. Duh, I’m smart.)

Lastly, 15k is a long time to go without an oil change, I wouldn’t do that again if it was my truck.

You have 15,000 miles and haven't even changed the oil yet?

I change my own oil and rotate my tires at the same time. Sorry for the confusion. What I was trying to say was this is the first time taking it in to a dealer. Thought I would have them:
Change the auto shut-off on the blinkers from 3 to 4
Correct the delay on the wiper switch (It's reversed from normal.)
Apply any TSBs that are must-haves.

I’d have them do the TSB’s you mentioned and call it a day.

TSB's are intended to solve demonstrable problems. If something is wrong, demonstrate it to the dealer and once they agree it is a problem, suggest a TSB. Just asking for a TSB will be met with extreme resistance. Some dealers just don't want to do them and deny there is a problem, so be ready to show the real problem to more than one dealer.

    this!
Unless you have a friend that works there, you don't get to go in and order these off the menu. Most dealers get their panties in a bunch and take great pride in flexing this little muscle.
I am not saying that they won't do them, but they want to be in control.

Someone else that has reversed intermittent wipers. Thought it was just me. I couldn’t change mine now. Gotten used to how they are.

Perhaps there is no need to take it in at all then. I don't need or want them to change the oil. I just thought I might get some value from the 15k free service.

I've had mostly positive experience with Groove Toyota on Broadway south of Belleview. The master tech there did my timing cover leak and it's still holding strong. They also did my ecu and rear differential warranty/TSB work there and it was done well. They did skip a tire rotation that was supposed to be included once but otherwise they have been fairly solid there. It's a dealership so keep that in mind at all times but I hope that may help. Cheers

If it's not a recall I'm not going to the dealer, free shit be damned.
I've been in for the fuel pump and master cylinder recalls and dreaded both trips.
OP, you can change the blinkers yourself, and likely the wipers too.

I had to take my old Subaru in to the dealer once for an inoperative rear window. That said they also updated the firmware or some such thing. I guess I was thinking they might do similarly at the 15k service. I guess I'll pass.

You can try! Some dealers want to earn your biz,,, many seem to view this as nothing but an inconvenience though.
I’ve got several buddies to that are dealer techs and they mention they can’t stand customers that read TSBs and updates on the net and come in asking for them for free,,, just cause they want the latest copy. Now, if you try, I’d tell them you are experiencing symptoms XY and Z that relate to said TSB, that may work.
it don’t work for me,,, but then again, they said they couldn’t duplicate the transmission shifting issues and put all of about 3/4 of a mile on it, and that’s driving it to and from their outer lot. I can’t remember exact mileage, but I did take before and after pics of the odometer. When I left them a negative review w Toyota l, the service manager called and asked how he could get me to change that. I told him to have someone come pick up the truck and do it,,, and return it. He was furious and said “that’s not realistic”.
