When the tire made almost made it back to pit road or when Brad limped around the bottom?

Same. After the extra-innings Braves game, I tried my hardest to keep my eyes open.

How about that #9? It was a horrible race until the sun went down.

As a driver and crew that was an extremely important race for HMS to win. First Ally was the race sponsor and Mr. H has a huge guitar collection that is the focal point of his office. Probably ranks right below Martinsville for that organization.

I imagine HMS was sweating it given they lost 1/2 of their cars early in the race and Larson was struggling most of the night (but rebounded for 4th).

Had that race not gone into the night I think HMS was screwed. Not sure what they figured out during that delay but the best thing that happened to the 9 was that slow stop where they came back in to make major adjustments. Without that slow stop they would never have done that.

Well, for the next race I'll take the 9. You all can have the field. If Chase can pull off one more win and string together 5ish more top 10's he should wrap up the regular season championship pretty easy.

the 18 should have never pitted either. Could of at least made it interesting. HMS strategy, specifically toward the end with the 9, is what won them that race.

I think the JGR camp thought only a few cars would stay out. When 10 cars stayed out they were screwed. It could go either way. That one just comes down to luck. Or if you get a green white checkered then you have a better shot. It did surprise me though, I mean the 18,11 and 45 should have been able to take that win if they had stayed out.

As did I. Right after tuning into Law and Order thinking they were going to pick up coverage on USA Network instead of randomly going off air entirely and saying "maybe we'll be back."

They covered another 30 min on Peacock. They interviewed maybe 5 more drivers then that was it. Didn't miss much. Kurt talked about how he should have "threw fenders" with the 9. And Blaney was typical Blaney, just chill saying they are consistent just have to clean some stuff up. Ross talked about how solid they are performing. Kyle Larson said it was a good finish considering the CC is out.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. I can't say much since I didn't see anything beyond the rain delay, but we saw how Logano sank like a rock on 2 tires. You stay out and everyone else pits, you're screwed anyway.

I prefer them a lot more than Fox. It was a long day. I think they were all ready to get out of there. I thought the coverage was decent considering it was the first of the year. I am a much larger fan of Mike Joy as the anchor but I preferer the NBC crew over Fox in every other position in the booth.

The whole Rutledge Wood on the town thing was strange to me. I assumed he would do segments during the race weekend but not actually live during the race. He was out at Tootsies on Sat and was like "well a race is in town and none of these people could give a fuck" LOL... Not really sure of the thought process there. I get trying to bring a spotlight to the host city and maybe attract some tourism but I mean, during the race. Okay then.

Would have been funny to see that segment back in the day at Rockingham. "Well, there is a Sonic on the corner and a Comfort Inn. And just a 1.5 hour drive from here down a two lane road you can be at the track."
