Lol, well you just watched him for 3/4 of a race being all but declared the winner by the announcers. I could see how it seemed like he won.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
This is going to be crazy if we get 16 winners and the 12 is excluded from the playoffs. As it stands either the 4, 12 or 19 will not make the cut.

12 won the Allstar and is 3rd in points. Pretty nuts just goes to show their playoffs are pretty stupid but on the flip side the champ isn’t declared 6 weeks before the end of the season because nobody can catch him.

I also think the 12 will win by end of season. As for the 19. Waste of money on JGRs part in resigning him before the 18. Harvick is done. Wouldn't be surprised if he hangs up the fire suit, end of this year.

I think the 18's problem is still sponsorship enough to cover the driver salary. MTJ doesn't really have that issue.

It's all speculation. However, any team, any sponsor, knows what they get with KB. He's a huge draw, love or hate him. I find it very hard to believe sponsorship dollars are not there enough for a full time ride on a primary and cover the cost of salary. Truex, at least I hope, should not be the priority at JGR. Who know's....

What if Kyle is looking at the #4 seat and a Bush sponsorship.

that's a huge what if... He's got a lot vested in Toyota, not only with JGR but also with KBM. However, it really all depends on what Harvick does. He said he wants to drive thru the 2023 season. If that is the case, KB won't go to SHR.

With that being said, anything is possible.

What if Dodge comes back. Kyle switched his trucks over as well as Stewart/Hass?

Funny you mention that. I truly believe Tony Stewart will/is bringing Dodge back. He's owner of Leah's Top Fuel team and they are Dodge. Don't see Dodge coming in by 2023 and if KB were to make that move, he'd have to go before end of season.

I ran into Tony at the NHRA spring drags in Phoenix and I asked him, as he stood under a Dodge tent, wearing a Dodge polo, 'when are you bringing Dodge back to NASCAR'. He smiled and said, 'Im a Ford guy'

I think Kyle has a hammer at the negotiation
table than people realize and that’s why it’s being kept under wraps.

I could see the KB deal going either way. I mean at some point JGR has to cut someone. What's the point of keeping KB around if you want your grandson in that ride in a year. I suspect they want a one year deal and I doubt Kyle would accept anything less than 3. On the flip Toyota needs to keep KB in the fold or his teams rebody and presto, another manufacturer has a powerhouse. I agree that SHR will be the team to bring Dodge back into NASCAR and SHR needs a veteran driver to entice sponsor dollars so I could see that deal happening. Who knows. My gut tells me KB might actually be done at JGR. The biggest wrench is that I don't expect to see a mopar on the track until 2025 or so.

I would expect to see those Busch $'s to go to whatever team JRM puts on the track whenever they move up to cup.

The issue right now is the charters. Dale Jr. was talking about how none are really available and with everyone waiting on the new TV deal they have to make and how that might affect the value. What could be had for about a million a charter a year or two ago is now 10-15 million. Trackhouse was smart to just buy an entire established team that had two. The goal is that the charters will get money from NASCAR to compete in each race and will share in the track dollars also and the goal is that each charter would essentially become valued at around 50 million. Simply put each car would be its own franchise. NASCAR could add charters but that would devalue the current ones and no one would be okay with that. It's a mess really.

One thing that Justin Marks was saying is that this car currently is not saving the teams money. This car cost about $500K without a powertrain and they are tearing them up. Marks commented that in other forms of motor sport where cars cost this much and the teams have a stable of two or three how the drivers rarely touch. That is the concept behind this car in that the teams would only need to have a few cars for each team and not 20 for the season. Parts cost more but should last longer but at this stage they are not seeing that. Also he came right out and said the trackhouse success is because this is an IMSA car. Plain and simple, that is where his background is and that is why he knew they could be successful with this car. He also said he was/is a lot more extended than he let on. He said he had deals that only paid out if they made it to the playoffs. I suspect that is why you see the aggression out of the watermelon man. They literally had to win or sponsors did not have to pay.

Yeah, but, say $30M for a year is still a lot for any sponsor. KB commands a high salary on top of needing to cover the cost of the rest of the team, parts, etc.

I suspect the issue is that they have all the sponsors they need for Ty and they probably want him to move up. And Ty will only command a rookie salary.

Yes and no. I would be completely on board with that if both sides didn't say that the other was their goal and they wanted to keep Ty in Xfinity for another year to mature and gain experience.
