NASCAR had a huge ratings boost for the clash. Although there were likely a few other factors that played in such as it being on a main network (Fox and not FS1) and it being on Sunday and not Tuesday night (like last year's clash). Only 5 races last season had higher ratings and the clash had 1 million more viewers than the championship race in 2021.

So what you're saying is the data supports what the sanctioning body wanted...wasn't my cup of tea but it was an event. Hopefully it keeps a few of those eyes for next weekend and beyond.

I'd be open to seeing another one in the future. It doesn't have to be in a stadium (the cost probably isn't worth it to do it regularly) but I'd like to see another 1/4 mile, non-points race at some point. Just glad to see NASCAR trying new things.

there’s 3 of us that watch all forms of racing. They flip us shit about another left and another left, but they tuned in from the Probowl. The shorter race format kept their attention.

The clash was “interesting” for sure! Kind of like watching Mini-Martinsville. It reminded me of my local racetrack and that’s a good thing. I’m cool with switching it up. A change? Yep, I’ll keep watching because the essence of it is the same for me…throw those elbows out! :duel:

What is the deal with the Duels? They are running one on Wednesday and one Thursday? Why aren't they running them both on Thursday like passed years?

I think they would have more viewers having them both on one evening like then spreading them out. They used to run them during the day and then just replay them in the evening.

More viewers is synonymous with more money. Two prime time slots is a lot more in ad sales vs one prime time and one late afternoon.
