You know, normally before old people die health actually improves for a very short period. I wonder if that also happens with performance for very old drivers?

 

Wow, I wonder what the Vegas odds where a couple weeks ago Harvick would go back to back.

 

I think it was before last week’s race all the tv talking heads said there was no chance of him winning 1 race to make the playoffs.

 

Sometimes listening to them jibber jabber reminds me when I would be a designated driver and listen to a car load of shitfaced people blabbering and arguing about nothing.

 

Going back to a night race and reducing grip would help big time.

 

This is awesome to hear! I’m coming up on 16 years. Certainly is a long but very good ride.

Man wins 2 races in 2 years and now they go: "True/False, Harvick will win the championship."

 

I'd like to go to Richmond next year. Partially to check it off my list, but also to see what the racing looks like firsthand. As far as television coverage, the track has never interested me much. Seems like a track where a scanner would be good, as the most excitement is following tire management. This is one of the tracks that Stage Breaks has ruined long-game race strategy. Richmond is farther away from me than Daytona (7hrs 20min vs. 6hrs 40 mins), which is about the max I'll drive for a race. Already have Atlanta and Martinsville on the list next year.

 

Well, the inevitable cat is out of the bag. I'm hoping they won't copycat Atlanta Speedway. We need more tracks with throttle response & control, not WOT go-karts.

Amen. I would like to see Atlanta unrestricted. But that's me. Not at all a fan of that type of racing. It's enough watching it at Daytona and Talladega.

 

The track itself if a nice facility. It used to share the area as the VA state fair grounds so their is a ton of parking. It is right off of interstate 64 so track access is not bad. They do a good job with taking care of the fans and all that so it checks all those boxes. The night race was a lot of fun, always a Sat night. They should go back to that but it is not the worst track to visit. Camping is not great as it is a concrete jungle but I never had a bad time at the track. It's no Martinsville but also not a bad track.

 

My wife is a decent ride too! She is sneaking up on needing those classic plates though.

Riverside International Speedway. They held that race there until 1988
