If so, it would be the best kept secret in the garage and Kyle should get an Oscar for the act he’s put on for the past few months.

I’ve not heard anything from my sources in the biz about Dale’s Cup interest or Kyle’s next steps, which tells me there isn't anything to share at this time.

My feelings are:

If he goes to Kaulig, it’s a building effort akin to what Brad K is doing at RFK, which would require patience on Kyle’s part; something I’ve never seen from him. With his truck team, he got Toyota $ and made Billy an offer he couldn’t refuse, and had a turnkey operation with big money backing. It’s not the same with Kaulig. And he’d have to either close up KBM or go into a partnership with Kaulig where they’d get ZERO factory backing from Chevy.

If he went to SHR, he’d be stepping into a team with the resources to support instant success like they did with Harvick. There would be the same truck team issue and Ford isn’t looking to expand their truck support so he’d be looking at selling it altogether as SHR & Ford already have a truck development funnel in place with DGR.

Essentially, the truck team; his baby, is the bottleneck in all this. I know he’d hate to lay all those guys off at season’s end. The truck team is Brenton’s inroad to Cup, so he likely wants to keep that going, plus he enjoys the development part.

He’s like a single parent with a kid seeking some consistency & support in a new partner.
