All-Star 2023 ticket prices announced. $299 EACH. I canceled my motel reservation and will gladly watch from home. $250 for a motel, $600+ fees for 2 tickets, $120 for two tanks of gas, food.

NASCAR wants better attendance rates yet they jack up the ticket prices. Those 2 don't add up.

Yeah, I used to attend 3-10 races annually back in the 90's and early 2,000's. Now, I just watch from home. It is just not worth going anymore. Out west anyway. I could pay to see the paperclip or Dega again but that's about it. I suspect the price is that high because of the limited seating capacity but still. That's a lot for such a short race.

Not as bad as I expected, to be honest. Especially with the limited capacity. Hell, T-Mobile Arena holds more and they were charging $76 before taxes and fees for standing room only tickets for a Monday night game near the beginning of the regular season. StubHub wanted over $1000 for a lower bowl seat. Despite that, the stands were still packed. So, I'm not at all surprised the first cup event at this historic racetrack is demanding a huge pricetag. You may find something cheaper being sold second hand close to Raceday though.

Shit, Nitro Circus tickets here were almost $200 bucks a seat for premium seating this year. My wife was like "hey I have a friend that has tickets for Nitro Circus you can have if you want them". I looked them up and they said general admission so my dumb ass paid $600 for three tickets because I am no general admission chump. I get there and see they are general admission to the all expense paid, free alcohol included VIP section. As I set from my $200 seat pissed off I gave up the only better seats in the house for free. With my $10 Coors!

That reminds me of New Year's Eve 2020 in my city when they did their first New Year's party/concert. VIP tickets were like $65 per and general admission was free. Well they greatly underestimated the amount of people who would pay for VIP tickets. The VIP area was packed like sardines and the general admission area, which was about 4x the size, had less than half the people.

Yeah I just paid over 500 bucks for 3 people at LVMS, pretty fucking ridiculous.

I wonder if that price now includes the other races they are having that week starting on Tue. If so, that's not too bad for all the racing you could see. Maybe they will have a couple good concerts.

very doubtful. NASCAR will squeeze you for every last dollar you have. Each race has it's own price and admission. Sure, you can buy a package but it will be well north of just a single race package.

Well that would be, qualifying and practice for cup and trucks, not the late model racing during the week. Plus the truck race and all star race.

$299 is the base GA backstretch admission for F-S events, not the Weekday events. Frontstretch is $399 for lower seats.

Again, not sure what you're expecting. It's a 18,000 (official) seat venue that's been the talk of the sport for the last couple of years and it'll be the first time a NASCAR sanctioned event will be held there with any of the top 3 series since the 90's. They'll be in high demand, especially locally. I think your best bet will be to try and score something second hand as the date gets closer. But you'll still probably be paying a lot. Hell, Michigan Stadium brings in $15M every time they open their doors, just from ticket revenue. That's an average of $136 per ticket at a normal venue for them with over 6x the capacity of North Wilkesboro, and they're doing it on a weekly basis. And they've done it for 300+ consecutive games (not counting 2020 when no fans were allowed). Yes, I get they're two different sports, but that's what people have been showing the willingness to pay. So I'm not at all surprised by this and I expect you'll still see the place packed out despite the $299 minimum pricetag.

I fully understand the supply/demand side of it. That doesn't mean I won't get sticker shock from that entry-level pricetag. I went to COTA for F1 with a full weekend general admission pass for $170, a decade ago. I've been to the All-Star race weekend at Charlotte many times, typically paying $55 for a ticket. I understand they have plenty more seats to make $ off of (albeit the place was typically half-full, as the concept is/was failing).

I've seen a lot of people saying the ticket fee goes into rehabbing the track. Taxpayers gifted North Wilkesboro $18 million via the President and NC governor last year to get the track back into shape, which must be complete before All-Star weekend next year. Marcus Smith (and SMI) are getting a LOT of public cash to spiff up an asset they left out to rot and decay.

I was really looking forward to going to NW, but I'm not paying that much, for a truck race and a short cup race. With that said, I think I'm going to spend a little less for tickets and check off a long time bucket list race, the Daytona 500.

I haven't heard them say that, but definitely don't doubt there are claims of that. And I do understand where you're coming from. No different than when I rented a Tundra this past weekend. It was 2 trim levels below my Tacoma and lacking many of the features, but the price tag is nearly $20k more than my Tacoma was. That's the going rate, but that doesn't mean sticker shock isn't there.

I'm just not on board with the argument that NASCAR doesn't want people in the stands with those prices.

    $18 million in tax dollars
    $10 million estimated tickets sold
$XX million in TV money, which likely covers EVERYTHING.

This cake has SO much icing for Marcus Smith & NASCAR.
