Marcus Smith was on the Dale Jr download and brought up some interesting points about the All Star Race. He mentioned they're bringing in 5000 extra seats, which is half the front stretch capacity. He mentioned they could easily rent another 10k seats, but they'd be overwhelming the infrastructure at that point, between traffic and bathrooms. Demand is already so high that people on the pre-sale lists were randomly selected to receive an email with the opportunity to purchase tickets.

That brings the seating capacity to 24,000 which is like $2.5 million more in their pocket. I fear that once they see how high a premium they can charge when they operate under reduced seating, they'll start taking more seats out of the other tracks -AND- with Dale Jr. buying the CARS Tour (Formerly Hooters Pro Cup), all the small weekly tracks will start to raise their ticket prices. It's been real nice paying $12-$15 with my kids getting in for free to area short tracks. I don't want to have to pay NASCAR prices for late-model races.

Sort of. I believe he also mentioned the 5k stands are to replace the Junior Johnson grandstands. I believe those were collapsing so I'm not sure if they counted toward the original seating capacity numbers or not.

Also, one YouTuber (I forget the name) was contacted directly by the CARS tour and asked to take his video down about Dale Jr buying the CARS tour and they stated it was not true. Could be PR to control information, but I also feel like if it was true, they'd likely not go through the trouble to contact a random small YouTuber.

They're certainly not playing nicely. But the 19 needs a win to move on and the 54 doesn't like how the 19 is racing him. The 18 just happened to be there.

What a shit hot punk move. Gibbs could’ve had two cars in the finale but grandson wouldn’t hear it.

All glory to God I guess.

JGR has never been about team orders like HMS. Ty clearly embodies that culture as well

It has nothing to do with team orders. He punted his teammate and cost JGR and his manufacturer opportunity at a championship. I mean odds went from 50% to 25% at a track JRM dominates. Total bonehead move.
You do realize the one guy you don’t want in the final 4 at PIR is the 7!

Gibbs had nothing to gain in his actions today. This kid is going to destroy JGR. I can’t wait to see what tantrums he throws when the 11, 19 and 20 are showing him up.

LOL, it’s not like he didn’t pull over from the lead and let him win. He punted a dude that clearly out performed him all day. In each exchange the 19 came out on top. And then to throw a celebration like that just makes you a tool.

I'm not disagreeing about the move. It was dumb. But JGR has never been about working together like you've seen with HMS. They're all out for themselves. Ty Gibbs clearly has that mentality.
