It was a dumb move on Denny's part. If he and Kyle are tight, he should've texted it directly to Kyle and not blasted it on social media. It's not for everyone to see. In my opinion, within that context, no harm no foul. It's just two buds taking jabs at each other. But Denny put it on Twitter. He should've known he was poking a beehive when making that decision. But he's done a lot of other boneheaded stuff through the years that's made me question his judgment.

    -BUT-

The response is really goofy on NASCAR's part because I know I've seen ads for Family Guy during NASCAR races that aired on FOX, so like, they don't actually care as long as they're getting paid. And like, the clip wasn't even used out of context, honestly. And Denny's use was less offensive than Family Guy's use (which aired on Nationally broadcast TV without incident).

Idunno. It's all dumb social theater and not worth the hassle.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
The funniest thing about this whole thing is my family plays a little game called "Asian or Old" when on road trips and we see someone driving like a jackass up ahead. I guess that makes me a bad person.

As my brother so eloquently put it: "NASCAR has just painted themselves so far into a corner that they've forced their own hand when it comes to this kind of thing." I agree it was in poor taste, but I also would have found it hilarious. Much like Princess Tilde at the end of Kingsmen: "If you save the world, we can do it in the asshole?"

Format for the All Star Race has been announced. Sounds less convoluted than the current "practice" system.

Stages 1, 2, and 3 are 25 laps. The winners start 1, 2, and 3 in stage 4 as long as they finish above 15th in the other stages (prevents riding around at the back). Stage 4 is 50 laps.

Between stage 2 and 3 is a mandatory 4 tire stop. Fastest time wins the pit crew award. Pit stop winner starts 4th in stage 4.

Sam Mayer just lost a tire soon after leaving pit road. Guess it isn't just a one lug thing...
