There was absolutely no reason to throw a caution at the end. No debris, nobody spun out, no danger to anyone else. NASCAR dropped the ball big time this weekend. To me, the racing at Texas was an absolute bore. Nothing lived up to the hype. Sadly the most interesting part was the wreck that took out the 18, 1, and 9. I really think NASCAR needs to reevaluate the All-Star event and where they host it. The format was so confusing and way too complicated. Tip of the hat to Blaney for being able to win the race twice!

    • Toyota truck wins Friday at a controversial track in the state where Toyota trucks are built.
    • Chevrolet wins Saturday, sweeping the top 5 and 8 of top 10. Only one Toyota in top 10.
    • Toyota car on the pole for the all-star race at a controversial track in the state where Toyota trucks are built.
    • Toyota car on track to blow out the event and win it all but gets destroyed by a fluke event.
    • Ford car runs away with lead when star Toyota driver can't run him down on two new tires.
    • Manufactured caution puts Toyota next to Ford in the preferred line and still loses.
I wonder if NASCAR/TMS has to give the *check* back to Toyota since they didn't win.

    * I don't think performance bonus clauses end with the drivers & teams. NASCAR has to deliver for manufacturers, too, and this past weekend looked pretty blatant.

    BUT ALSO

WAY TO GO BLANEY! This guy has so much bad luck. It's good to see him finally beat it.

I don't really get why people keep claiming the format was too confusing. It was actually pretty simple and it wasn't the first time they ran it or something similar. The All Star Race has always been about being a gimmick.

It's the active testing ground for new rules. Look at the numbers, stages, double-file restarts, choose cone, new tire compounds, under lights, and new HP & aero packages.

So happy for Blaney even if it is a non-points race. Great to see Wrangler on his hood too. Dale Sr. would be proud of that paint scheme!

Looks like Denny Hamilin is upset at Nascar , stating that Nascar should have black flagged Blaney

I am not a fan of Denny but he’s not wrong. I am glad they didn’t and they should have never thrown the caution but had something happened they wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.

Ha! Knowing Lionel's poor QC it'll likely be halfway hanging on by a thread of glue. Which is... fitting.

Can't really blame him since he would have won. But he also admitted he would have done the exact same thing and NASCAR shouldn't have thrown the caution.

good explanation on the race caution and the window net situation. All Star race, as mentioned, has weird rules. Whether truthful or just to say what people wanted to hear, the race worked out how it was supposed to thankfully.

We're focused on Charlotte! Let's race!!
