And room to make food and eat after working on said shitboxes (yes that's me, wife snapped a pic)

Congrats man. I'm a framer so I got the being built part when you said framing walk-through. If you have any build questions feel free to ask. When's the expected turn-key date?

Holy hell man. That's a BIG fucking island. More room for toys just means more toys. Win/win. lol

    Thank you :fistbump:

We're not sure exactly; we're second wave and first wave is expected to close this month but they're already behind a bit.

By the way, that last pic with me isn't our house. It happens to have the same extended island and cabinets that we chose....was nice to see them in person.

Definitely not a fan of their back splash. We chose not to get one as we'll add our own at a later time.

Subway tiles have made a huge comeback the last 5 years. I don't really like them but I ended up putting them in my kitchen because that's what the wife wanted. There not your typical subway tile though. 4 x 11 made the work go super fast. She also wanted old school 1/4" grout lines. I cheated and used 3/16" to skinny them up a bit but she hasn't noticed. lol

I really need to do some maintenance, but I wouldn't count that out.

    That looks sharp!

So, one thing I'm really looking forward to is the garage.

It's a 2-car garage, and I plan on having a welding setup to do side stuff if/when I need to.

Nice thing is, I have huge flexibility at work to use any of the 3 transformer-based machines. But I want to be able to work out of the garage as well.

    Thanks man.

I wish my garage was bigger. It's 15'4" wide but with work benches and drawers on one side and my wife's workout area on the other I can barely squeeze my rig in to work on it. lol

Just noticed you have recessed lighting as well; there's a ton of recessed lights in our kitchen.

Wife and I agreed that her vehicle will be garaged and my rig will sleep outside. But it's easy enough to just put hers out and mine inside when I need to work on it.

Part of the reason why I can't go wheeling as much is all the maintenance I need done; been at my in-laws since Sept. waiting for the house to be done.

@Kwikvette I echo what Matt said.

I'm a Superintendent for a home builder. If there's anything I can help with, let me know.

I've got a bunch of maintenance to do as well... but I'm hoping to reporting back here, Sunday evening, with a long list of shit I completed this weekend.

    100%

With man power, material issues, and greedy asshole subs... it's hard to stay on track.

Example... my f'n HVAC/sheet metal sub pulled completely off the job and said they weren't going to continue work without a 35% increase.

Gotta love breach of contract. Presenting a solid case for increased material costs and increased payroll expense gets you a whole lot further then "Fuck you I want more money". Hope you find another HVAC sub that knows how to bid and how to do the work right.

Ya, one would hope it would go that way. But my lazy assed purchasing just gave them the money (about 3 weeks ago) they have made no effort to catch up what so ever.

We live in a different world (in Construction) than we did a few years ago.
