    Solar makes sense. Thanks.

I don't see that often in Mammoth builds. Most disconnects wire into a generator. Solar isn't really that practical when it's buried by snow 40% of the year. lol

The cost of labor, and materials.

I hear 50/60 amp circuit breakers are costly, so I would want to buy a quality one and provide it to said electrician to wire up?

I can do the most basic of wiring, but this is something I'd pay someone to do really.

There should already be a 50 Amp breaker in the panel (turned off). Wires should already be running from that breaker to that outlet box, and a blank cover should be on that box.

It should, literally, be buy an outlet and appropriate cover for said outlet. Connect the Red, White, Black and ground wire, screw outlet in to box, screw cover around outlet.

At least this would be the situation in one of my houses. And that is what is required by the local jurisdiction I am currently building in.

    Interesting.

Ok, something I need to ask then.

It wasn't mentioned in the build at all as I think it was an "implied knowledge" sort of thing.

Kind of like the back-up battery on our garage door opener, in the event that one lost power while their door was down, or in the middle of opening/closing. People like you and me know you can operate the door manually, but that knowledge isn't as common so now the door can be remotely locked and unlocked even if there was a power outage.

Something I only learned when we did our walk-through.

Exactly. Should be about $15 for the NEMA 50 receptacle and cover plate. Any hardware store should have them in stock.

I'm giving the builder a little benefit of the doubt here, but they may explain some of those things better at your final walk.

The Supers that work for me explain some of that stuff at the frame walk. And the Customer Service guy gets more in depth at our final walk.

    Damn.

That would make sense as to why he said they have that plate cover and whatnot.

    I'm even more excited now.

    RESUME FUCKERY.

The snow is melted in all of the sun exposed areas. But anything with a Northern shadow still has some snow. I think I’ll hit the Latrobe dirt road, Folsom Lake and some forest roads here in El Dorado Co I’ve been driving around on since I got the truck.

Our travelers yesterday took us to Downieville California where we had fun in the snow on Saddleback Road. Amrik was the first to get unstuck from a snowcat where crews needed to get by to
Do work. Traveled further up with using own on kinetic ropes and winches.

Photos from Saddleback yesterday. Another note my Napa compressor did a fantastic job of of reflating my 35 tires back up. Very fast.
