    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Hell ya you guys can come along.

    It's a 4x4 In Motion event.
4x4 In Motion is meeting at the trail head to run Niagara Rim at 10:00 on Sat. Then they are camping at Dardanelle Resort on Sat night.

I'm going up Friday night and dispersed camp then meet them at the trailhead. I'll probably camp at Dardanelle Resort with them on Sat night. Then I'm planning on going back to the end of 5N01 exploring before return home Sun evening.

It was no more (and not even as much) as what @silvertep did for me the week before on Signal Peak. Besides, once I disconnected the Mean Bean, I was really able to bomb those fun roads like a side-by-side! :burnrubber:

Speaking of the next trip, it's my wife's birthday :hbd: and she (understandably) is worried about the weather :rain: and doesn't want to spend her birthday in the mud. :poking: Instead she wants to camp near Mendocino and Fort Brag so if its raining, we can visit the local pubs. :sandwich::cheers: Did I mention how awesome my wife is? :101010:We have actual reservations at pay campsites (gasp)! :facepalm:We are staying near Calistoga Thursday night and at Van Damme SP Friday and Saturday nights. If the weather is nice, we may be able to swing up and see you guys for a visit. :drunk:

Thank you guys for the tips. Ended up going a couple of weeks ago. Got lost when going from Mono Lake to Bodie. Thought we went around Mono Lake into the hills but ended up east running into a group of wild horses. Somehow we wound up back onto the 120. So we decided to hop onto the hwy and go straight to Chemung Mine and check out bodie the next day. Found a spot in the grove of aspen trees next to a pond with an electric fence but decided to drive down a few hundred yards and found a spot higher up from there.

Well I got the edit done for the Deer Valley trip. It was a fun time with Nevada Jeep Club. They are some good folks.

Didn't do any "wheelin" this past weekend. But we did get out and about.

    20221008_100045.jpg

Went in to this weekend thinking we would just go up to the show and put ourselves out there in front of people. I told Jen if we come out of the weekend with 10 new subscribers I'd be happy.

Well... we got this, and over 10 new subscribers.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
This Friday evening we will be camped at one of these locations:

    1st choice = 38.28130, -119.80882 on Long Valley Creek
    2nd choice = 38.27934, -119.80587 on Long Valley Creek
    3rd choice = 38.28286, -119.81326 on Long Valley Creek
    4th choice = 38.28934, -119.85946 at Barn Meadow

It is deer season, so I'm not sure how many people will be up there. It is late in deer season at this point, so hopefully there will be a better chance of getting spot #1

Saturday, we are camping with 4x4 In Motion at Dardanelle Resort. Cost is $20 per vehicle, they do have bathrooms but everything else is turned off for the season. They are going to have a pot luck, so if you're going to camp there, bring food. (totally understand if people who are not in the club decide to primitive camp instead, if they decide to stay Saturday night... we're members of the club, but we may still decide not to go up to Dardanelle on Saturday).

Comms = I use HAM radio. I'll be on 146.460 that is also the channel 4x4 In Motion uses as well.

Niagara Rim Trail is not super technical, at least definitely not if you take the bypasses. But I always suggest you should have some skids, sliders, and at least 31 inch tires. Lockers are definitely not necessary on NRT.

We plan on doing some exploring on Sunday before we return home. Bennett Juniper and Relief Reservoir, are on the agenda.

My buddy asked me to put together a short video for our club. He suggested a clip narrated by Jay Shetty as the background. It really resonated with me, and it kind of actually sums up the approach Jen and I have taken to this year. We have done A LOT of trips this year. But the amazing part is... although we are, admittedly, ready to take a break on as many trips as we have been taking. We are looking forward into next year planning even more things to come. Bigger, better, maybe longer, trips. We'll see if, or how, that will work out. But, there are definitely sea changes happening to what priorities look like.

This video is posted on my "other" channel. I wasn't sure what the copyright implications were on the narration. I did credit the original source, but I didn't want a copyright claim on my main channel. I did want to get this out there though because it really sums up the approach that we've taken this year, and our feelings going forward.

It's kinda funny. This is the mantra of service departments around the world :anonymous:.

It's a nice video and a great reminder that time is not on our side when it comes to "our time".
