I searched hoping to find my answer, but if I missed this, I apologize in advance. I recently purchased a 2022 SR5, my first Toyota Tacoma. I have noticed that the fader is not what I'm accustomed to, if not malfunctioning. When I try to balance out the front and back speakers, I can't get them to balance much at all. I am one notch from 100 percent rear speakers before I hear them. My radio is the standard radio minus navigation 7 in screen i believe. Is this common, or is the radio malfunctioning?

The rear door speakers have little to no volume across the board on all DC tacomas. No matter what radio, or model tacoma. For some reason they designed it this way. Some have changed speakers out, and had good results.

Do you think they have some sort of damper wired into the speakers or wiring harness for the back?

No idea. Like said it's across the board. I have JBL and it's that way. Not an audiophile guy. My guess it's to do with speakers, if others changed out and got better results.

This. The rear speakers are whisper quiet even at full volume. Combat this by adding a line out converter and amplifier if you care to toss some money at it.
