2022 SR rear view mirror upgrade

Is it possible to add an auto dim rear view mirror to the SR? Way too many people running LEDs in housings that just blind others and no one seems to turn off their brights if their behind someone as well. Frustrations of an early morning driver. Im constantly having the flip the mirror to dim multiple times on the way to work which isn’t a major deal but it can get annoying at times.

Pull the upper console, peek above the headliner and see if you find any wiring tucked away. If so then you’re good to go, if not then you would need to wire the mirror to ignition power and ground.

If wanting to buy a mirror, I’d buy one from Bob’s and you may as well get one with Homelink if you open any garage doors regularly.

So on the 2016-2023 trucks, unlike the 2009-2015's, you won't find any wiring tucked away for the mirror anymore. Toyota quit doing this across-the-board during the 2015 model year, so ever since then, vehicles no longer have the upgraded mirror wiring in place, regardless of model. On the Tacoma, though, you don't have to look too far...25 pin connector IN1 is located in the base of the driver's side A pillar and should have ignition (Pin 13), constant (Pin 14), and ground (Pin 1) connections (although constant hot may be missing from the 2020-2023, but for this you can tap into the lights in the overhead console for constant power).

My thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. After reading the posts, I went over to my local Yank-a- Part and scored an auto dimming mirror from a 2011 Tacoma for $10. It was a direct swap onto my 2021 Tacoma windshield mount. My Tacoma is an SR so I ran the power wire down to a fuse tap on the fuse block.
