I think toyota uses a broad brush when claiming fuel economy numbers of their trucks. If its a 4wd v6 auto no matter what trim they are going to list just one fuel economy number for all of them, except for a manual v6. Same for all 4 cylinder 4wd trims. 2wds will get another number

    Respectfully
We’ve spent more time talking about it, then it takes to remove and reinstall. OP just try it and see if you like it, there is no welding, grinding, or cutting involved here.

If you “wheel” with the damn airdam then you are definitely not “wheeling”.:)

I took my air damn off my 2021 Sport over 9 months ago now to put on the TRD skid plate. I'm not an engineer or a mechanic. All I can say is I have not noticed a significant MPG difference, nothing has broken that I know of, and the cabin noise level is the same. I also think it gives the front a more aggressive look. It's easy enough to put back on if you change your mind.

    Generational debate

1st gen - Do I go with a light weight 4cyl regular cab 5spd or do I go with a V6 automatic double cab?

2nd gen - Do I want a TRD Off Road, or do I want a TRD Sport?

3rd gen - Do I remove my front air dam or keep it?

I'm an outliner here, but I prefer the air dam install to help with MPG's. I spend majority time on highway, thus I would like to squeeze whatever I can in giving better fuel efficiency.

Yeah for light trails it’s fine, but if you actually try to wheel with the dam on, you will rip it off. Tacoma’s approach angle is not the best, even without the air dam.

I heard you like airdams, so we put and airdam on your airdam, and then put it on your airdam..

If you dont like it, or feel as if it will get in the way when you offroad, take it off.
If you dont mind it, or feel like it might help mpgs, or dont offroad, leave it on.
Do what you want, its your truck.
Too many people here telling others what to do with their own shit...

What's all this carp about MPG's, you're driving a truck FFS!

Sometimes it's like I wandered into a prius forum.

    Creepy, man..............
