And the ever popular sub-variant of first oil change mileage: what kind of oil should I use?

I'm just an old guy now (59). I know when I was younger I always liked to change things for looks. If I'm understanding this correctly, if I pull the airdam off my stock 21 SR5 double cab longbed that still has factory chrome and a cap, the ladies will flock to me? And to think I've been wasting all this time by blasting the Partridge Family through my speakers. :p

The only thing you'll be missing then is the Skewp from either the TRD Sport or the TRD Pro. :)

If I remove my front air dam on my 3rd Gen, what size tires can I fit without rubbing?

If I make my entire truck an air dam, what would my gas mileage be? Could that even be calculated?

Removing your air dam allows you to go 10k miles on an oil change. Savings.

Yeah, this place can go "off tangent" but it's part of the fun.

    Friday's are the best! lol

EDIT: I just glanced at your first post...you were asking if the air dam protects the radiator?

I happen to take a pic of the undercarriage while my Sport was on the lift. Looks like the OEM skid plate protects the underside.

The Air Dam is more for improved MPGs...LOL! (I'm kidding)

First time I got a newer truck with an air dam, I discovered it when I parked. It was a full size truck that was longer than a space so I parked by braille - let the front tires nudge the curb. Something scraped and I was baffled until I got out and saw the plastic thing.

Totally useless and meant for the dumpster. You might get .5 mpg better in a headwind on the highway. I think they do it for points with the gov, as over millions of vehicles it might make a difference
