2022 Taco Mic Noise on car play/blue tooth

I am on the phone a lot in the car, and everyone complains about a very loud buzzing sound on my end... my wife says it is manageable on Bluetooth, but terrible on apple car play (iPhone 13pro). Does anyone else have this issue? Wondering if my mic is bad from the factory.

 

This is a frequently talked about issue. I think it's mainly due to the iPhone, I could be wrong though.

I have seen that thread.. it seems to be more focused on music play back quality, and I have not had that issue... it is really just the mic issue.

 

If Apple Car play is connected with a cable, try replacing the cable. Also try another phone (Android or another iPhone), this will help narrow down where the real issue lies.

 

We are having the same issue with our 2022 Tacoma. Did you find a solution in this? No solution from the dealer so far.

 

A new iphone cable upped the call quality a little bit, but both are still terrible.

 

I have used 2 androids and the sound is terrible. People say it sounds like I am in a wind tunnel. It has to be the mic. Anyone find any fixes?

 

I just got my truck and had the same issue with the buzz. This link fixed it for me on android. I also cut down the mic sensitivity setting that you can only access from the Bluetooth menu when on a call. Funny enough everyone said it didn't cut down my volume so I don't really get the point of having it but it seemed to help!

After doing both of those, the issue went away, and I had multiple people call me after on both Iphone and Android to check. Hope this helps!!
