Hey guys, I went to the dealer on March 24 and they showed me the trucks they were allocated for May. I was looking for a Black 22 SR5 that was one of them that was coming in and gave me a vin #. What are the chances of it arriving in May ?

Pretty good. They told me a build date and week of delivery date and all were correct. Things can happen though.

A REAL VIN or a production VIN?
They're likely just trying to set the 'hook' at this point.
Act now or it'll be sold before May arrives. <sarcasm>

Exactly, the dealer has great revues and has been remodeling the place for years. Hopefully, i get my truck in May of 2022 not May 2023..

That's hopeful I figured about that long, and that's why I put the deposit on it. I jumped the gun and applied and was approved for the loan. I just like to have ammo when buying a car. But only good for 60days. if no truck, I may have to apply again.

just got an update . The truck should be here by the end of the month as planned. Hopefully, the salesman was not just saying that to keep me from bothering him

Did you have to pay dealer addons , right now I am looking for a sr5 but almost all dealers here in Texas are asking 37k ~40k with all the mandatory addons they put on it .

It did come with the add ons such as mats, mud guards and the door guards. I wanted those anyways . I have them throw in the Toneau cover for free. I will get the LED bulbs for headlights and fog lights. Not sure if I will have the dealer do them unless they give me a break on the price.
Anyone have recommendations for aftermarket LEDS?

A bed mat is generally a very useful item.

Drive it and 'upgrade' where it falls short for how you use it.

Working on paying it off early is a great mod........

I totally agree and paying it off early is the best!

LED bulbs should be used with reflector housings designed for LED bulbs. Simply replacing a non-LED with LED is not going to provide what you might expect for longer distance illumination. There are a few threads on TW that go into this evaluation in great detail. OEM LED housings seem to be the best route to go.

Truck came in a week really. Only thing is the ass red stitching that wasn't expected. Even the dealer was surprised. Any suggestions on how to cover it

Are you talking aftermarket housing or just replacing bulbs? If the former, good luck hopefully you get a good price. If the latter then don’t do that. One, they’ll be worse than OEMs, and secondly you’d end up spotting oncoming traffic with your headlights and you don’t wanna be that guy. This thread is a long read but worth it 100%. I spent a few hours reading and trying to understand it and it helped immensely. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-hid-vs-led-vs-halogen-h11-projector-headlights.589465/

Well for one, if living in the rust belt, get the undercarriage coated with something like cosmoline, or fluid flim. A bed mat is really needed also. Seat covers next. Congrats on the sr5, its a fine truck.

    Embrace the red interior lol.

You can probably find someone who wants to swap their all black dash pad and door panels for your red panels.
