2022 tacoma 2.7 leak

    noticed today small leak after transmission.....looks like its from the connection of drive shaft or is it coming from inside transmission? not sure.... anyone know? IMG_20231023_062541877.jpg

    I think we would need to see more pictures. It doesn't appear that the oil could be coming from anywhere but the u-joint. Was the area cleaned or greased recently?

    Looks like its coming from plug in transmission yoke.

    I would make the appointment sooner rather than later so they can get you in. Some dealers can be swamped.

    I would clean it off with brakecleaner and see if it returns. Thats just me though, it is a new truck that im sure wasnt cheap.

    good idea gonna clean and see if it returns in one or two days....but im assuming when i take it in its a all day thing or couple of days?

    If it is the yolk thats leaking im sure it would have to be ordered. They might even replace entire driveshaft if they arent competent enough to take apart the ujoint.

    Ive seen chevys leak from yolks all the time. There is a freeze plug type cap that gets pressed in to seal the hole.

    You can clean it, but I’m sure it will come back. It’s the yoke plug, they will replace the driveshaft
