I just bought a Millercat guard for my 2020 Tacoma.

I live in a decent area but we’ve always had break ins and thefts. I’m more concerned about parking at work in a rust belt city where almost every type of metal that can be scrapped has been stolen. With the economy going down hill it’s only a matter of time before the rash of metal thefts start up again.

Nothing yet, still looking. Highlander Hybrids apparently have two inline.

No comments anyone? I do believe Toyota did a decent job on the new trucks, but just wanted to see what you guys think.

Gulf States Toyota distributor now offers a Miller Cat Shield as a port installed option on 4WD Tacomas.

I was concerned about the same thing. Miller does assert they've done some thermal analysis to show the shield won't cause thermal issues, in part due to the airflow through louvers they have cut into the shield, and they even cite Bernoulli's principle on this (so apparently they have at least one actual mechanical engineer on staff). I'm not convinced by their analysis, but on the other hand given the spacing between the cats and the shield, I am reasonably sure there's not going to be an issue.

Nope no issues, even with a TRD SKID plate installed.

I have the Talons Garage version and also have a scan gauge installed monitoring my trans temps for towing. In the year and a half since I installed it I haven't seen any difference in temps from what I saw before the install while towing (I don't usually pay much attention to my scan gauge when I'm not towing the trailer). That includes going over mountain passes in Washington state on hot days (both Snoqualmie Pass and Chinook Pass) and also stop and go traffic on holiday weekends. I've had no other heat related issues.

That's the one I'm looking at buying today, dealer offering it to me for $250, I was also wondering how the fit was with the TRD Skid which arrived today. Is there an overlap or does it fit like a puzzle piece at the front?

There is a slight overlap by about 2cm but not noticeable. Nor is there any interference be with other parts.

It fits very nicely and snugly with the skid and the shield. It almost looks like its OEM to be honest in terms of fitment.

I saved myself a headache by installing the CAT shield first then the skid plate.

Edit, my truck did not come with that 45degree bolt on support piece. Prev owner removed it. That will interfere with the skid-plate. I don’t know what the name of that piece but you will see it.

Yeah from your pic I could tell the skid seems to sit under the shield, no problems threading the shield with the slight change in fitment?

A little bit of fingerprints on both photos...lol!

It's held up well but I don't do any off-roading; just street driving...hence the Sport. :)

The people who have had their CAT stolen are the ones who just do the mod and don't think twice because they need it.
