6-7 Pros for one dealer seems like a lot. I online chatted with one dealer and he said they only had 3 allocated. Another says they don’t know how many they would get allocated.

Given the supply issues, seems tough to get a Pro this year. Will try for a 2023.

Yeah who knows. I only need them to be able to get 1. Been almost 3 months now with "no news"

Depends on how many deposits they took for the Pro - likely more than 1. So little info - dealers blaming Toyota Canada for lack of updates. But it does seem supply issue is getting worse, not better. Dealers literally have zero cars to sell at all on the floor.

Luckily don’t “need” this now, more of a want. Starting to see dealers add a bunch of stuff to vehicles if they have one for sale.

Just wondering if you would order a 2023 knowing that it is likely the last year before expected redesign?

I contacted my dealer today as my truck was supposed to be in this week. Long story short they sold it to someone else. So now I’m back to square one and have to start over. I left a deposit but no vin was assigned yet. Not sure what happened but my sales person no longer works there. It was a windchill 6MT. They are telling me that things are worse now then before. Any allocations that are not pre sold Toyota Canada is pulling them and giving them to dealers that have them sold. Told me minimum 120 days. And yes from what I’ve seen dealers are adding stuff to them for big $$. BUT there is a dealer close to me that is getting an Army Green 6MT next week that hasn’t been spoken for and another dealer has a Luner Rock in a month that is unspoken for in a 6MT. With the way the market is right now and the high prices of used I’m tempted to take the Army Green and order a windchill pearl from that dealer and trade it back or sell it when the windchill pearl does arrive. It does seem crazy but when i talked to that dealer he said they can’t get any used Tacoma’s because at auction they are selling for 4-5k more then new. I might just do it

How does that happen - a vehicle you ordered gets sold to someone else????

I’m not sure to be honest. They were very vague about it. I’m guessing someone f@#* up. That’s why the salesman is no longer there. Or someone wanted it along with a bunch of over priced accessories, I honestly don’t know. I had a receipt for the deposit but no sales contract. Gave me my deposit back no questions asked. It’s a first for me. The deal was for MSRP and a very good trade value. The new dealer with the Army Green will match the trade value and sell it at $500 below MSRP to makeup the price increase that just happened. Buy I really want windchill. If I’m going to spend close to 50k with tax I might as well get what I want. But maybe I can go ride this off for one and make a little extra.

Some unusual things going on. Never heard of a deposit receipt - the one dealer I spoke to says deposits are non-refundable, attached to a sales contract, which are binding, unless they can’t deliver the vehicle.

Also unusual is the other dealer offering a discount on MSRP! Unheard of in this environment. Seeing more vehicles being offered with a whole host of accessories, so if the dealer sold your vehicle to someone who was willing to pay more than msrp, that wouldn’t be surprising - disturbing, but not surprising.

Plenty of dealers pulling sketchy stuff right now. The dealer I used in Alberta threatened to cancel my brothers deal and sell his 4Runner to someone else if he didn’t trade in his current 4Runner with them. It’s like they completely forget that these supply issues won’t be around forever. Treating customers like crap is a poor long term business plan.

My dealer gave me a copy of sales contract and a receipt for deposit. Because of how scarce these are and how long it's taking I can come in any time and take the deposit back if I change my mind. Also got a bit under MSRP, but that was in October. Hopefully they don't pull the same thing when it does come in. I'm sure they could get $10k extra from someone else who really wanted this thing.

I’m told 5 months from my first week of October order date. East coast must take 2+ months longer to truck:jerkoff:

They won't tell you that when you put your deposit down lol

Sounds like the supply chain issues are getting worse.

When I was doing my paperwork at dealer we were chatting. They said wait times for everything were getting longer. And it would remain so for at least another year. Maybe 2 for things like RAV 4 prime. Almost every model for 2022 has been pre sold. With multiple people on waiting lists. Except for Corolla. But they were out of those right now too.

Update: Thanks to whoever posted the thread mentioning Toyota Canada upped the MSRP on Jan 1st for the 2022 TRD OR DCSB from $45,000 to $45,400 and the price of the mandatory block heater to an additional +$30. You saved me $500 and a headache.

I initially placed my order and deposit on Dec 17th and had a vehicle purchase agreement for a TRD Sport and was told the price only went up $40 when I changed my order to a TRD OR I never received an updated purchase agreement to reflect the change (even though I asked for it 3 times). I messaged my sales rep last evening and asked for a guarantee I would pay the $45,000 MSRP tor the 2022 TRD OR as it was listed in December 2021. At first he said no and upped my price $430 plus tax. I had to do some digging but found a screenshot in my phone of the price in 2021 and the email where he said only $40 more. I ended up going into the dealership today and got a new purchase agreement for the TRD OR reflecting the price we initially agreed upon back in December.

Also to my surprise the sales manager had added onto my order a TRD pro skidplate, tonneau cover and running boards! This was over $2000 more added to my price. I'd love all these accessories but I didn't ask for any of them. This was all picked up today by chance. I imagine if I went in there 5 months down the road to pick up my truck I would have been paying for these things without this updated quote.

I'm leaving town for a 7 month course with the military so whoever posted that information thanks again! Now I have peace of mind being away.
