This was the dealer where I got my previous Tacoma. Got a big discount and was easy. They have started doing these "builds" recently and I went elsewhere for my current order. To their credit though they put this disclaimer under most of these marked up units:

Included with 4 Way Protection(undercoat, rust, paint, interior), Ceramx all windows protection, Deluxe PPF, ECP(Heninger Only Worry-Free program include lifetime powertrain warranty* ),5 Years Tire & Rim Road Hazard Protection, Predator steps, Hard trifold tonneau cover, Lift kit, Similar vehicles without installed accessories are also available, please contact us for more details.

I was under the impression that I’m Canada (Toyota Canada) that dealers aren’t allowed to charge over MSRP???
Not sure that that’s correct info?

2022 Nightshade ordered Oct - have been told February / March (SK). They called me the other day to confirm that I have one coming for sure... my name is on it... I'm still not holding my breath. My tailgate pad (mountain bikes) arrived the other day... that got me excited again... and I went to my local truck accessory shop and picked out a tonneau cover... I just need the truck! I'm going to get winter tires for it too - will order now and sit on them until next winter... crazy times.

After reading through this thread, it seems more likely that we'll be waiting longer... :annoyed:

I ordered my Lunar Rock 22 TRD Sport in mid September and picked it up Jan. 8. It would seem that 4 months is the average here in Ontario. BTW, this is my 3rd, 3rd Gen Tacoma and is by far the best one. Primarily, the transmission seems to hunt around less than the previous trucks and the power driver's seat is great...you can finally adjust the seat height giving you far more support options on longer drives.

I’m pretty anxious to try out the adjustable seat as well. I’ve had a 17 TRD sport and currently a 19 TRD OR with the old fixed height seats.. Now a 22 TRD pro on the way and I’m most excited about the damn seat and the full LED headlights.

I emailed dozens of dealers in Ontario and was able to find 4 unspoken TRD pros in electric lime with auto and another black truck in auto. Seems like the first batch of TRD pros to the area will be mostly the electric lime colour.

My experience was probably too special, I went to the dealership late Aug last summer and told the sales what I want, no deposit, just a name and a number. Then left, no words for 4 months, got a call late December, I was told that the truck just arrived.

Well, I'm not sure if that's true or not, but dealing with one local dealer this past month when I was trying to buy a new Tacoma was ... interesting. Basically the sales manager said "We consider offers to purchase just that - offers. We don't have to accept them". This was concerning a truck shown on their website with a stated purchase price, and a "buy me now" button. Apparently clicking the button simply indicated you were willing to "discuss" buying the truck. True, this was a 2022 new truck listed as "demo", not a 'build to order' one.

But still, kinda sounds like shenanigans to me.

Yeah some weird stuff going on for sure. I talked to a dealer yesterday in Alberta about a DCSB 6MT that had just landed and was unspoken for. Was working out the details and the salesman told me I had to make a decision about it right then and there over the phone or they were going to put accessories on it. This was at closing time too. Kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Told him I would call in the am with a deposit as I’m from out of province. Call first thing this am. Truck no longer available. It has accessories already. Told me They put on their Alberta PKG. This includes Trd wheels and Goodyear Duratracs, Trd lift, 3m on the hood, Predator steps and black emblems. All for only $11,900 extra. So 5k above what the accessories cost to have installed. Plus you don’t get the origional wheels and tires or shocks to try and recoup some of the $$$. Plus this was all done between closing when I talked to them and when they opened.it actually priced out the same as the ELectric Lime I was offered today at msrp

I would never walk through the doors of a dealer like that. I see the dealer I think you’re talking about on YouTube with add ons like you mentioned

So, in today's interesting news, my dealer (in the GTA) told me that the older I placed for a TRD Pro 6M back in September is effectively cancelled, because Toyota Canada has advised them that they're not getting any TRD Pro Tacomas.

Does anyone have any info that backs this up?
