Sales manager at my southern Ontario dealer says toyota trucks are shipped up from the US by rail to Toronto area and then only trucked to the dealerships from there. Hopefully the trucker vaccine mandate doesn’t slow delivery’s down much if at all..

 

Thanks Me too. Been waiting a little over a month now. They told me they usually get their allocations from Toyota on the 20th of each month. So I obviously didn't get one for January. Here's hoping for February!

 

Yeah lol. I'm sure it won't be too bad if they rail them most of the way.

 

Anyone received an Access Cab recently, I ordered a MGM Off Road Friday the 13th of August in BC. Salesman said it might be 2 to 9 months, he called an offered a Double cab a couple of weeks ago but I can wait for what I really want. He guessed it would not be to much longer but did not have any specific timeline that he wanted to give me.

I can confirm this as well, I have a very good relationship with my salesman here in southern Ontario and he told me there is reduced volume for both the pro and trail in the country. He also confirmed a shortage in lunar rock. Apparently I am the only person at his dealership so far who was able to receive an allocation for a trail and in LR, I requested my order back in July before there was an msrp.

 

I just got an update from my dealer, my truck is listed as "in production" so I guess it's currently being built. I'm also guessing still 6-8 weeks before I actually see it.

 

It may be too late to get a pro allocation at most dealerships for the rest of the year and I assumed that back in December after my local dealer said the 2 allocations they had for pros were already accounted for.

But.. a cut and pasted mass email to over 25 dealerships across Ontario allowed me to find 4-5 incoming TRD pros that weren’t sold. 2 of the trucks were due to arrive in late February/early March and we’re both unsold. So don’t give up! Tons of Toyota dealerships out there to help bring up the odds

 

I am in South Western Ontario, ordered my OR Premium in Magnetic Grey Metallic first week of November. I was offered a decent trade deal on my 2019 Taco, but getting close to 100K (terms subject to reappraisal). Still no allocation, no word on delivery, nothing. Starting to get my hopes up...

 

I canceled my factory order on 2022 Tacoma TRD OR Premium, Lunar Rock, South Ontario. The Sales rep told me anyone can buy it now, not sure if they advertised it anywhere. Let me know if someone is interested. I can provide more details.
It should be at the dealership on Feb25.

I put an order in for a white OR 6A DCSB on the weekend, sales rep said expect to wait 4 months before getting it, I'm in North Vancouver. Put $1k down on the deposit as well as them taking driver's license details etc. Can anyone confirm if this allocation on the 20th of each month business is correct? If so I'll make sure to send some follow-up emails around then in Feb.

 

I've got the deposit back. Unfortunately, my daughter couldn't sit in the car. The seats were too low and uncomfortable. I took her with me for a 30 min test drive, and she asked to keep our seven-year-old manual Sentra because it was more "comfortable". I realized Tacoma is not the right vehicle for me at this point in my life. I will review this option again in 3,4 years once the new generation becomes available. I hope they will fix all the issues by then.

I’ve never driven one, but been seeing YouTube videos on modifying the seat with boosters … a bit disconcerting!

 

There are plenty of used ones you can test drive. They ride the same, the good thing about Tacoma is you can't tell if it is new or five years old, but I agree. So glad I did it.

 

Ouch. I feel for you. I'm on Vancouver Island and gave up trying to get a new one, mostly because I needed a truck now, not 3+ months from now.

Is it just me, or does it seem like most sales people are just order takers nowadays. I was dealing with 2 dealerships on trying to get a truck. first dealer had one on ground and the other one has an unspoken for allocation. Both trucks CCSB 6MT. the truck on ground is in a small town 2 hours away. they don't sell alot of short boxes let alone manuals. salesperson called it a city truck. The other one is local. Both salespeople were all over me to sign a deal and leave a deposit. To the point of calling or messaging me a few times a day over a 2 day period. To me its all numbers. I have a trade which they will make about 3k on and I'm ok with it because of my tax savings. I sent them an offer which I thought under normal times would be fair. $500 more for my trade and $1000 off MSRP. Well I that was the end of that Zero communication since, nothing. Not even "sorry we cant do that". I wouldn't have been surprised if they said no but i am surprised of the zero communication after.

 

Sounds like they sold that truck and you’ve now become dead to them.
