Anyone know roughly how impossible it would be to buy a Canadian AC OffRoad MT and import to the US? Assuming one had relatives in Calgary?

I’ve had a 2016 6MT TRD sport and currently a 19 TRD OR auto and I never loved the transmission but leaned to live with it just fine. I’m looking forward to the manual again. Crawling steep terrain in 4low using a manual feels like you’re in a tank!

Pushing the ECT button on your auto really livens up the shifts and feel of the truck overall so give that a try if you haven’t already.

You would have to find a 2020 oo older I believe. Might be able with a 2021 but not a new one. New ones are made in Mexico and subject to large tariffs. Find one with a vin that starts with a 5

Guh, been waiting since I hit a deer over the holidays.

My salesman gave me an update today with the fantastic news that Toyota may not give them an M6 Pro... at all this year.

I've kept my order open with my local dealer, they claim to be the 2nd largest in Ontario so I doubt I'll have better luck on another dealers waitlist.

Just for fun anyway this afternoon I emailed ~40 dealers across Ontario, not one M6 Pro to be found. Lots of promises to get it if I put one on order with their dealership.

One dealer confirmed they had recently sold one after a year long wait for it to arrive. One "LoL" in response.

At this point I'm without a vehicle so I'd make the cross-country trip if anyone knows of a manual PRO anywhere in Canada without a stupid markup shoot me a PM.

Sad that this is what it has come to - to find a vehicle…. Emailing 40 dealers across a province? It’s a big province! Driving from Toronto to Thunder Bay would be quite a trip! Starting to wonder what “services” these dealers are offering to earn the profit. Perhaps it’s time to allow cars to be purchased online - the amazoning of cars … a la Tesla.

What's stopping a dealership from selling the truck you ordered to someone else on the lot who is willing to pay more and just keep you in limbo forever? Clearly they can earn way more profit for cars on the lot than cars ordered. Is there a way to check or prevent this?

I’ve been told that only about 5% of Tacoma’s are built in 6MT.. not great odds for those that want one.

5% and they are only built every 3-4 months I believe too.

Access Cab and M/T are the least popular features and a TRD OR AC M/T is only sold in Canada so it likely gets built in extremely small numbers. I'm glad they do it because it is exactly what I wanted, but I wonder why Toyota bothers for such a small market.

My TRD OR AC M/T was built in Sept. 2018 but did not sell until I bought it off the showroom floor in June 2019.

Thanks for the offer but I’m hoping for just the base OR, I’m quite tall so the extra headspace without the sunroof is what I’m after! Glad to hear that it’s growing on you!

Direct to customers sales wouldn't help right now I don't think if there are way more people wanting these trucks compared to how many Toyota can make. Tesla Model Y SUV standard model for example looks to be August 2022 delivery estimate if you order today

:annoyed: I thought I was hunting for a unicorn but apparently a TRD Pro is an even rarer beast of myth and legend.

I have now heard dealers are now unable to order any pro series that Toyota offers, Toyota Canada is hand picking the dealers that receive them.

There are only 3 manuals set to come into the country and none will be arriving in Ontario.

They are rare but I’ve got a TRD pro 6MT arriving in Southern Ontario next month.

I think only 3 to canada is not correct since my manual pro and likely any other truck that’s now classified under order type as “retail sold” won’t be visible for any other dealerships to see. That’s what my sales manager explained to me.

I was asking specifically for allocated units, a few dealers confirmed they should be receiving a PRO but have no idea when and if it'll be manual or auto.

There are a definitely sold units incoming, but it seems that all TRD Pro's coming in 2022 are already spoken for judging by the responses.

I've still got another 40 or so dealers to email today before I've covered every Toyota dealer in Ontario, and more than a few who still haven't replied to the inquiry I sent yesterday.

Yes there are likely more 6MT incoming that are retail sold and invisible to dealers. If it’s just allocations that’s when other dealers can I believe still see what each other are getting and then try to trade for other trims/models etc. keep emailing/calling dealers all over and you’ll hopefully find one. 2 dealerships that I asked about any pros incoming didn’t even know they were allocated a pro until they checked for me over the phone.

As far as I know, I have been also allocated a TRD Pro 6M arriving in the next month or so. There was some drama around it, but it appears it's happening - they've given me a VTN.
