A 2022 Tacoma Pro automatic is $69,000 with tax in BC right now. If you're looking at a manual that will set you back $62,000 otd. Both those assume no dealer fees, which is unlikely.

Do you pay tax on used private sales in BC? There is no such tax here so maybe that plays a role there?

Either way, it's crazy out there. I personally just sold a 2.5 year old SUV for more than I paid for it new.

Yes, they charge taxes 12% on private sales in BC, but it is flexible,, depending on how much the seller want to put on the transfer paper. Usually the seller and buyer will work with it a bit to save some taxes.

Put an order in for a 2022 OR in army green about a month ago. I've been looking at mods ever since. Paying MSRP with just the floor mats and bed mat added in. Would be thrilled if it gets here before Christmas.

Are you saying there is a $7k difference between auto and manual transmission? Seems unlikely.

That's what it is. Manual has a lot less equipment from what I remember.

Auto: MSRP is $59,720 plus Fees (Freight/PDI $1860, Air Tax $100, Tire tax $20, Province Fee, $6), Total $61,700
Manual: MSRP is $53,260 plus same fees, Total $55,250

Adding 12% tax and yeah it's about $7k differential.

The manual doesn’t have crawl control or proximity key/push start. Likely other things.

I’d go manual on a pro for the savings, would have went that way on the off road premium if it was an option.

I cant remember what the 22 pro is in Manitoba but I do remember the same thing. they have gone up about 3k
so based on 21 prices a manual was 52756. + 3k puts it at 55760 auto was 56830. so 59830 plus freight and pdi plus dealer fees.

in Manitoba dealers are selling at msrp plus a doc fee of about $500 give or take.

I believe the difference in price is what's been said here. No crawl control on manual, no push button start and no JBL stereo. I was looking for a manual but the few dealers I talked to said id they get an allocation it will probably be an automatic. on a side note I was dealing with a dealer here and they offered me 1k below msrp on a DCOR. it was the last one they had. I wanted white and this was cement. by the time I told him I would take it, it sold. only difference from a 21 to 22 that I've been told is the command start option from your phone is free for 1 yr then $10 a month where as a 22 is free for 8yrs.

I'm not including tax on the 2020 or the 2021 (I stated the year wrong, but I doubt much of a change between '21 and '22.) Including taxes just confuses people, as we all pay different amounts in different provinces, and it doesn't reflect on the amount the purchaser is actually receiving.
In BC you pay the same 12% tax on new or used vehicles.
Without getting political, you have the BC Liberals to thank for that, as when the HST was scrapped, they came out with a "new" 12% pst on used vehicles, whereas before the HST, only the 7% PST was charged on private sales of vehicles. (The fact that the used car dealers donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the BCLiberals may have something to do with the tax being applied to ALL sales)
Essentially, there is NO tax savings on a used vehicle.
The 2020 TRD Pro 6M SB for 66K was an example from CL.
    If I added taxes at 12%, we're looking at a $74,000.00 Tacoma:rofl:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's the same truck as listed below at $52,760 new? Or is there another higher end TRD Pro I'm not aware of (besides the Automatic, but that's comparing apples/oranges)
The price otd without taxes (including freight, prep, PDI, AC fee, tires and battery recycle fee) is $54,745.00, or over $9,000 less than a used truck that is the same model.

if you’re correct on the 8 year thing that would be awesome. Nice feature I used on my 2020 tundra, will likely pay the $10 a month during the winter

Called dealer today to see if they’ve had any luck being allocated a ‘22 TRD Sport Premium in Lunar Rock. Unfortunately nothing has come up yet, but they were optimistic about a mid November- December delivery date. Can’t wait to get in my first Taco. I’m located South-Western Ontario.

I guess comparing before tax makes sense if you have to pay tax on used vehicles. There's no tax on used private here so that's confusing when comparing across provinces.

Either way, it appears the price of Pro Auto has gone up quite a bit more compared to Manual for 2022. I'm guessing why the 66k CL ad exists is because that person is counting on you not being able to go to a dealer and order one. So if you want one you have to pay way more for a 2 year old unit.

Allocations are weird. Most of the trucks come I g to Manitoba seem to be premium packages to start with. A few Blue Crush and Magnetic Grey and Army Green. And One Lunar Rock. All supposedly in transit and 1-2 weeks out.

Same here , smaller northern Alberta town , mostly top trims , anything basic model wise has to be ordered or you head south to Edmonton/ Calgary. then again most of the dealers up here order the same way. Our Ford dealer sells more Raptors than probably some provinces total sales ..

A riding to the dealer I’ve been talking to they have been allocated 3 Pros for 22. He said it will be difficult to get a manual. More then Lilly they will get autos then have to do a dealer trade. He said over 80% of all manuals got to Alberta and BC. Also they have been experiencing Toyota pulling their allocations. Even on trucks that have deposits. I think it will be this way for awhile. I just wish I could have found a 21 Pro before the 3k price increase. Might just do a sport manual. It’s 10k less and better lease rates. You can do a lot with 10k
