I'll give that a sorta there are people that try that shouldn't, therefore there are others that will do things far better. I'm good on the tools but there are many others that simply have more skill. Effort can only replace so much skill regardless of access to information.

Ideally, I would like to perform 90% of the maintenance on my truck personally. However, due to living in a condo, I am unable to change the oil in the underground or aboveground parking areas, as per strata regulations. Additionally, it would be ideal if I could rely on the dealership to install the oil cap as required, but unfortunately, that has not been the case. It seems as though the perfect world is out of reach.

Toyotacare is a steaming load of bullsh*t no wonder they offer it for free. The amount of damages they’ve done for my past 2 trucks far exceeds the value of the plan itself (damaging paint, crushing underbody plugs, losing caps and causing emergency oil change). Also, 10k miles on an oil change?? No thanks!

It took me over a decade to learn there is an inverse relationship with dealer service and mechanical problems. Less time at dealership less stuff breaking. In my experience anyways. DIY or trusted local shops only. I don't want to be paying for the stealership’s overhead. Had friends in my youth that were car jockeys at a dealership. Lots of horror stories, customers vehicles abused maliciously, out of ignorance or jealousy cause you have nice new ride. No thanks.

End of the story, dealership completed at their cost:
    • Free oil cap (duh).
    • Oil flush.
    • Oil and oil filter change and found no debris.
    • Apparently scoped the oil spout and couldn’t see any issues.
    • While on the hoist, they cleaned the undercarriage.
    • Engine bay detail.
    • Exterior detail, clay-bar, and wax.
    • Gave an extra year warranty (or 20,000KMs whichever comes first) for the engine only on top of the standard 5 year 100,000KM warranty.
All in all, I would say they did their absolute best to make it all right for me, I was pretty adamant I wanted some sort of warranty extension. They insisted the truck will be fine, it probably will be, but the peace of mind definitely helps. Thanks for all the input.

    I think we’re breaking up…LOL…

There are about 10-12 other Toyota dealers within 20-50KMs from each other, I’ll likely go to a different one for warranty stuff. I think I’m going to find a reputable small shop near me for the rest.

77 square miles surrounded by reality.
    Vehicle:
    '15 Black DCLB SR5
Tires, Softopper, fully armored, winch, many pinstripes.
    At minimum.

Sometimes late at night, I go out to the garage, just to double check the oil...

Thats awesome. There only a couple within 100 KM here that i would use for parts or recall work.

    none yet
That glove being slightly sucked in could also be from the engine cooling down. Hopefully that may put a little ease in your mind.
