Toyota is making minimal improvements to the current 3rd generation N300 Tacoma to keep sales humming along. I can’t see upgrading to a 2022 model when the all new 4th generation Tacoma is only a couple of years away.

I missed out on getting a MT and ended up with an auto when I bought my 2020 AG Pro. I may dump it and order one of these with a manual. Sick. That will get me through to the next Gen.

I don't get the love for the TRD Pro at this point. It's more of a let down than anything. I'd be exited if they had fender flares, some sort of really unique styling, maybe a turbo motor, or some other unique tech and interior styling. Paying that much more for what they give you.. the ability to display a TRD Pro badge and have a unique color option?

@SilverSkyTRD agreed. Most are for show. Obviously the segment of pro owners on here are not a fulk representation of all pro owners.

Widening the track would spark alot of interest in the Pro. Toyota could do something closer to a Raptor with a long travel style suspension. Maybe the 4th gen will go that direction.

Toyota is crushing it with their color choices lately, that new green looks great.

Maybe they'll make lunar rock available on lower trims now?

You are looking at it the wrong way. When you compare a comparably equipped off-road to the pro, the price difference is, what? $3,000?

But for that $3,000 you get the aluminum bash plate, the cat-back exhaust, the hood scoop, the fox suspension, The pretty grill, floor mats, LED driving lights, the pretty wheels, and the higher resale value.

When I was shopping for a new truck, I was planning on getting an off-road, but I hated the wheels, the suspension is no great shakes, I was going to put on a bash plate, I thought the hood scoop was cool, and I hated the OEM wheels....

So for me, the TRD Pro was the cheaper option because I knew I was going to change all those things anyway. But with the Pro I didn't have to touch a damn thing.

If you are looking to build up a truck, far and away the best platform to start with is the SR5.

I'd like to see lunar rock make it's way down to the SR SX.

The incredible resale value and exclusivity is what draws buyers to the truck each year. The 5k a year production rate is big part of the appeal for the Pro model.

I recently went online to Carvana and punched in my 2019 Pro for a purchase estimate. It was higher than I paid for my truck brand new.

This is what had me looking to trade in my 2016 on a Pro but after considerable thought, I paid off the 2016. Having no truck payments is a big incentive to not trade it in. 2016 after almost 6 yrs. drives and looks new inside and out.

Price isn’t out yet. Having a clean heavily built 14 2nd gen paid off is hard to give but will look at a lime one.

I wouldn’t mind one if they are around 40-45

    Or a supercharger…

it’s really dumb that u can order a SR5 with the same engine & bhp as a pro. They need to set the pro apart.

agreed but why would they. they get top dollar for them and they can't keep them in stock with just a shock and exhaust upgrade.
