This is so true. The difference of a similar Off Road is so close to the Pro. The trick is to get it at MSRP and not get forced in to buying it over.

maybe in Colorado, I spoke to Toyota of Cedar Park and they will just sell at MSRP. I won't be surprised if it's loaded with accessories from Houston Gulf State distributor

I like it. My 2021 pro has a 1/4” top plate and a 0.5” rear shim with 32’s, making it sit exactly like this

I have a Fox pro suspension on my 2nd gen Baja. I added the wescott design lift adding an inch to the front. On my rear I have a icon rxt leaf pack set at option 2 (1.5”) if this helps you.

What color do you think Toyota will remove? My bet is on Voodoo Blue or Wind Chill Pearl.

Toyota averages 8 color options each year for the tacoma. In 2021, the tacoma had 10 color options and Toyota is going onto 11 if they don't remove one. Most colors that have been removed in years past were colors that were featured on the TRD Pro (Inferno, Quicksand, Cavalry Blue). Voodoo Blue is a very unpopular color, so its safe to assume it'll be discontinued. If it is discontinued, that'll mean there will be no blue option for the tacoma which will end a 21 year streak since the 2000 model year. Toyota also has another option and that is to remove both Voodoo Blue and Wind Chill Pearl from the pallet and replace it will a blue color that is actually attractive to everyone. <-- lots of people don't like voodoo blue apparently.

bring back Horizon Blue Metallic or Paradise Blue Metallic?

@brandon78lusch I read on one of the threads in the last few days that Voodoo was on the chopping block but was being replaced with a different shade/hue of blue.

I like the voodoo more than the previous blue that was more flat/primer looking imo.

Since Lunar Rock is replacing Cement on the Trail Edtion, I predict Cement is going bye bye for 2022. Toyota always has a blue.

    You are not...

Making it "functional" to do what?

Air intake to the airbox? If there's no performance gain to be had, then why?

Vent engine temps? Are you having engine temp issues?

Nearly all hood scoops in todays market are purely aesthetic. The function is to look cool (obviously opinions will vary). I get why some people don't like them. Don't like the looks or the limited visibility... but the constant desire or need to make it "functional" doesn't make sense... to me...

I have a really newly made in 05/21 Tacoma which should have the most updated stock ECU. I can say with 500 miles driving on it that gear hunting on streets and freeways does not happen for me

Supposedly it still will going uphill at speeds, according to other people. Being in a flat desert 99% of the time it’s hard for me to test this

I still plan to get the OVTune regardless when I can

An offering of the Pro in access cab 6 MT would make me a prospective buyer, but who am I kidding? I can't even get an OR in access cab manual transmission! Guess I will be sticking with my (edit: wife's) Sport!

    It's functional!

It's function is to look awesome and keep the hood from jiggling.

    10/10 would buy again!

Does anyone have the part number for the 2022 TRD Pro UCAs? I was looking to change my JBA UCAs, not liking them very much.

Does the manual 22 still use key or did it get keyless?
