Exactly what I was thinking. They also praised the "new" tire but it is the exact same with larger side lugs.

The new tire does have a different tred pattern unless Goodyear is doing something special for Toyota. Buddy of mine has a set on his '17 and they're definitely an improvement over the old Wrangler Kevlars, without being a ride quality downgrade to irritate the people that don't care about tires.

Definitely looked to be the same pattern that was on my 2017. I do like the new side wall though.

I have the most interest in the UCA's on the pro, that wasn't mentioned. And the Bronze wheels.

As for the color, ehh. At least Toyota shot their shot though.

    What I concerning the MOST!
"Do you continue to see a place for the Land Cruiser in the U.S., or is it bumping into Lexus?
The Toyota dealers strongly want the nameplate of Land Cruiser, but we have not decided yet. We have some alternatives on how to retain the Land Cruiser nameplate."

Personally, not my taste. However I'm glad it isn't a minor change from a previous color *cough* lunar rock *cough* cement *cough*.

No, BUT if they DO use the same platform for the tundra and tacoma, there's a high chance the interfaces will be the same so shoehorning it in might be wicked easy.

Benefits of a diesel mid size are off road, not on the highway. I mean there ARE benefits, but the fun of it is off road. The Colorado sales are an indicator though, and they're....not great for how many diesels go, so not worth it for Toyota to make a NA only Diesel when they have a NA only gasser already.

It's 50/50 for me. I totally get Toyotas decision to kill the 200 off. It was expensive, it wasn't techy enough for it's price. The Sequoia competed with it and did a better job at catering to American tastes, etc.

By removing it, you can bring the 4Runners top-most trims up market, you can do more with the Sequoia and it's TRD Pro trim. Plus Lexus gets a more "unique" model.

I read they wanted to bring the LC down market, but how far down can you go before you're butting heads with the 4Runne TRD Pro?

yeah the Nissan guys have been doing titan swaps to the frontier for years. I would love to do that.

I will say - I have looked briefly at doing a coyote V8 in a new Ford ranger ....

That was my reaction haha. It just idles along at 900-1000 rpm in 10th gear, out of boost, and sips fuel. I personally think GM is cheating like VW was (not complaining tho) as its been 8000km and its used 1/3rd a tank of def.

Just noticed I forgot to mention that lol. But yea, 3.0 Dmax. My buddy has the 2.8 Dmax in his Zr2. Love both motors... and I think if the 2.8 Dmax was in the Tacoma (or the 3.0 I6 but thats a pipe dream) it'd be genuinely the perfect midsize.

Well, that minus the EPA crap that makes them unreliable and no one want to invest in development of US diesel engines.

Yea... It's unfortunate. My dad's 3.0 has been very reliable, but I get that the development costs are often too much to justify as there's not a lot of people like me. Maybe one day I'll r2.8 swap it.

Yeah, the DEF system is the only consistent reliability issue I've heard with the 2.8L Duramax and that mainly comes from sitting too long and allowing it to crystalize in the injector. Hello limp mode.

My buddies 2018 ZR2 has 160k km on it, no issues thus far, and it's been beat on hard offroad. Then again, with that many KM it hardly ever sits, and that's what keeps a diesel running perfect. I've done almost 15k km in 2 months, so I'm also someone who barely lets their truck sit and is always driving.
